Working on an Isometric Engine for #picotron - great fun so far! But movement and especially collision with these walls is kinda hard-any pointers to help me? #ScreenshotSaturday
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been asleep today.
It’s fucked up that I was able to catch a cold at all given how distant I am from other people. Did someone sneak up behind me and breathe or something? How did this happen. What the hell.
It's done, buuuuuut now that it's in #picotron and doesn't have pico-8 limitations, I can afford to thoroughly comment the code for anyone wanting to study it. So I'll do that before release. Might take a while tbh.
Veditor for #picotron has also been updated, though only with a small addition to the documentation on how to associate .vgfx files.
Also it's worth pointing out, picotron v0.1.0g has made saving/loading and working in general so much better. If it felt awkward before I'd give it another try!
I think I’ll spend this afternoon working on FORTH and playing with PICO-8 a bit. I’d really like to have Picotron on a Raspberry Pi, however. Hm. Maybe I should write an OS…
So yeah, since I finished the vector editor I've been remaking lemmings in #picotron as a little hobby project.
It's nice to potter away at something that can't possibly become a work project, but I still get sucked in as if it was... so today is the last day I work at it seriously.
As of rn I have all the mechanics working (except metal and one-way surfaces) and 3 of the early levels.
This has been taking up way too much of my attention. you have no idea how powerful I'd be if I could choose what I focus on, but in the meantime I am conclusively proving that #picotron can run lemmings.
I've got a new game idea that's so fun I want to build a prototype and release it (in #picotron) before I add it to my game ideas pages for the sheer lols. Wakka wakka wakka
I edited more of my next book. I hope to get it out before August. I also spent time playing a bit with PICO-8 again. I should spend some time doing the same with Picotron. I’m OK with Lua but would really prefer Python or Ruby.
I wanted to do #ludumdare this weekend, but didn't have time. 😞 I did, however, get menus fully working and auto-backups working for Froggy, my live-coding app in #picotron! 🐸
