It's open source and has a documented protocol, and is designed around the idea of collaboratively designing 2D maps with other players. You can use custom graphics for map tiles, and custom player graphics (if you can make a 32x32 doodle of a character, you can play as them!)
I've been working on it since 2017 so the software has had a lot of time to mature, but I've had a hard time helping it find its audience. If anyone knows how to reach people interested in lighthearted SFW furry #roleplay I'd really like to know. I'm also hoping to specifically establish fantasy themes if possible!
@NovaSquirrel something where users who disconnect without sending a logout packet leave a "ghost" for 15 minutes that can still "hear" things, while a desaturated semitransparent sprite still indicates potential presence?
@syliph Yeah I was picturing something like that. That sounds like a pretty reasonable amount of time too? Like Pony Town doesn't even let you idle for more than 15 minutes normally.
I have access to three invite codes for #CharacterHub that will allow you to skip the registration queue. I have been writing articles for them for months and they provide a fun system to track and develop #OCs on top of an active community full of activities and #RP.
Am I missing anything? Aside from VRChat I guess, but I really don't want to spend huge amounts of money just in the vague hope that I'll find a group on there. I don't want to do voice calls with strangers.
I genuinely don't know what else I could try aside from just hoping someone shows up who invites me into a group.
@Dex Do you think that people you encounter in public spaces would be willing to ignore whatever your avatar is and treat you as something else? I kind of assumed it would be annoying to try and explain that if you used a public avatar.
I haven't really had luck with getting invited to stuff myself so I'd probably have to dig through whatever public stuff I can find.
I think people misinterpret my difficulty with finding a group for difficulty with getting a preexisting group to start something. Those are very different problems, and one is a prerequisite of the other.

EDIT: in der Schulzeit hatte ich einen DSA-Charakter mit seinem letzten Würfel an die Wand gehängt. Er ist in Stufe 15 im Kampf gegen einen Dämonenpaktierer gestorben.
#Baustelleninfo#Mönchengladbach#Rheindahlen: An der Gladbacher Str (Dahlener Heide bis Pfingstgraben) wird bis zum 8. März an einem Gehweg gearbeitet. Auf der Straße wird es dann für die Autos einspurig. Für mich heißt das, man kann als Fußgänger und Radler nicht mehr den Rad- und Gehweg stadteinwärts nutzen. Ich bin gespannt, ob dann der Flickenteppich durch die Wurzelschäden verschwindet & ob es eine Umleitung für Radler gibt? 🤔 #MG Quelle: #RP

Als abhörsicheres Online-Office fürs gemeinsame Arbeiten an Dokumenten eignet sich CryptPad gut, aber als Ablage für beliebige Dateien ist es nicht gedacht.
Ich habe ihn jedoch auch schon für mehr als für gemeinsames Online-Office verwendet. Auf dem #CiviCamp 2022 z.B. haben wir einen freigegebenen Ordner genutzt, um an einem GDPR-Projekt zu arbeiten. Da haben wir problemlos die exotischsten Dateiformate hochgeladen.
