The Israeli army has intensified its renewed assault on Jabalia refugee camp and the Zeitoun area in northern Gaza as resistance factions regroup there, months after the Israeli army said it had "defeated Hamas" in the north.
#VietnameseSkyraiders rent the air with ferocious whines as they dive-bombed sections of the city, notably the #Chinese quarter of #Cholon, which was honeycombed with #VietCong. The planes sent #refugees scattering in all directions and plumes of smoke shooting into sunny skies that mocked the city's agony. In six of #Saigon's nine districts, 24-hour curfews were still in effect, meaning that those districts harbored at least small bands of #guerrillas still operating as units.
#VietCong were #entrenched in the pagoda and in #bunkers and #tunnels in the adjacent cemetery. In a day of hard fighting #TaskForceGibler supported by fire from #M42Dusters overran the position killing 49 VC and capturing four together with maps, radios and other equipment for the loss of six U.S. soldiers killed.
"According to reports, Mustafa was killed in an airstrike while traveling in a vehicle. He lived near Tyre, in the Rashidieh camp, which is home to a significant portion of Palestinians in Lebanon."
Hamas and its odious terrorist network stay safe and protected in an underground labyrinth leaving poor Gaza citizens that they fleece critically exposed and vulnerable above ground.

"He then noted the immense investment Hamas has made in constructing these tunnels, which he believes may have cost the organization up to a billion dollars over fifteen years."
UNRWA head denies knowledge about Hamas data centre found in tunnels under UN agency’s Gaza headquarters
The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has denied any knowledge of a sophisticated Hamas data centre found by Israeli troops in tunnels underneath the agency’s Gaza headquarters.
Israel has destroyed some Hamas tunnels in Gaza by flooding them, the military has said.
Late last year, plans from the Israeli military to flood some of Hamas’s network of tunnels with seawater from the Mediterranean leaked to the press. Experts warned that this could permanently damage the water supply in Gaza as well as the viability of agricultural land.
After 18 years of #hamas control of #Palestinians , is it impossible to suggest the only people that remain living in #gaza were families or infrastructure supporting #terrorists?

"In the last day and a half, over 100 terrorists have come up, some of them underground, in the Khan Yunis area, and in other places - because they understand that they can't fight against the IDF."
Google Maps can now navigate inside tunnels, like Waze does, using Bluetooth beacons
A new feature spotted by SmartDroid allows the Android version of the app to use Bluetooth beacons to track your location in areas where GPS signals typically can’t reach.
These beacons transmit Bluetooth signals that give location data to your phone, acco ...continues
We don't have lots of #Tunnels in south #Florida . Our average elevation above sealevel is probably below 20 feet. Yesterday we drove through this tunnel. It has been many years since we have driven through a tunnel. Of course the only phone call we received the whole afternoon was as we entered it. Fortunately it is a short tunnel, and the call was not dropped. The universe has a sense of humor.
Flooding Gaza tunnels with seawater will be deadly and disastrous as it will lead to the collapse of infrastructure, including residential buildings, in targeted areas, the Palestinian Authority (PA) warns.
According to Israeli reports, the Israeli army is planning to flood Hamas’s vast network of underground tunnels with seawater to drive out fighters.
Israel is considering pumping sea water into Gaza’s tunnels to push out Hamas, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal which cited US officials informed of the plan.
Israel could carry out the plan with a large pump network that can power thousands of cubic metres of water into tunnels, flooding them in a matter of weeks, the WSJ reported.
It added that Israel set up at least five of these pumps near al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza last month.

"Snaking beneath dense residential areas, the passageways allow fighters to move around free from the eye of the enemy. There are also bunkers for stockpiling weapons, food and water, and even command centers and tunnels wide enough for vehicles, researchers believe."
As a suburban Chicago resident, I can't help but wonder if anyone has considered flooding the #HamasTunnels as a means of pushing the #Hamas fighters out into the open.
It's probably not a realistic idea, and I'm sure no one will even consider it (at this point, the goal seems to be "slaughter over strategy"). But water can be a powerful tool, and I can't imagine the tunnels would be as watertight as folks might think. If one part of the tunnels is near to the ocean, then they only need to find a way to connect the two-- perhaps with digging in already-siezed territory, perhaps with one of the bombs they seem to enjoy dropping on innocent people.
It's a fantastical idea I know, but I think the situation calls for new ways of thinking & new ideas, not the old way of bombing lots of innocent people in order to damage the tunnels, yard by yard.
I've just found out there's a huge network of tunnels underneath my town! I'm so excited! They date back to WW2 and were used for munitions storage. Gotta find out with who and how to get access. I can always show my Historical Society member badge! Move over Geraldo!

"The Israeli Air Force has been striking a lot of neighbourhoods in Gaza. What we are doing is prioritising striking commanders, senior leaders of Hamas in all echelons," an IDF spox said.
