BLACK SABBATH - California Jam Clear Vinyl Double Album Available In September
A clear vinyl 2LP edition of Black Sabbath's California Jam album will be released on September 20 via the Expensive Woodland label. Black Sabbath is regarded as one of the pioneers of heavy metal, the British band helped define the genre. This fantastic 2LP set features the band's legendary performance...
I love Cannonball Adderley and in particular his collaborations with his brother Nat, but on this instead we get Miles Davis on probably the best record where he’s credited as session musician.
The first album I bought on CD. This #vinyl edition not only puts that version to shame, but obliterates the earlier wax pressing. Richard Lloyd and Robert Quine on the same album is noteworthy enough, but "classic" status requires songs and Girlfriend has them in spades. @vinylrecords
Stanley Turrentine and The Three Sounds - "Blue Hour" (1961)
One of the crown jewels of the #BlueNote catalog has been reissued. I love my mono original of this, scratches and all, but this new stereo reissue is terrific. Ideal rainy day music.
Filling another self-inflicted wound in my record collection from my great record purge of yore. I guess my thinking was it’s not my favorite Minutemen record… anyway. Glad to have it back. #vinyl#vinylCollection#nowPlaying
Sun City Girls – “Sun City Girls” (1984)
First run pressing of 1000 copies on Placebo Records
Desert landscapes, weather, people, and culture are so unique. One of the quietest places on Earth, deserts tend to produce a lot of introspection. I assume this is why some of the weirdest and most creative art, particularly music, comes out of such regions.
I could never keep up with all the output from the Sun City Girls and the two brothers that constituted its core. But that’s ok. Their first two albums are so good, with both music and silly, clever lyrics.
Anyone know if Discogs is a good place to work? They're hiring. They're not like doomed for some reason or anything, or just laid off all the good people or something? I feel like the #vinyl#music people here might know
A complete steal of a collection. 3LPs with the album, Peel sessions and Demos. I don't think the original album was meant to be in this as its not listed anywhere. It was £25 as well.
Got my Big|Brave vinyl for “A Chaos of Flowers,” my favorite record of 2024. It’s so beautiful.
The lyrics are quite powerful. They’re themed on the internal/external manifestations of marginalization. Five songs were written by female poets, all of whom were activists for women, people of color, and indigenous people: Emily Dickinson, Akiko Yosano, Renée Vivien, Esther Popel, and Tekahionwake (links in thread).
Click on that and you'll see all the posts. That's the key to Mastodon besides following lots of people: hashtags. Like #gratefuldead or #music or #vinyl. Each of those should be a link that takes you to posts with that hashtag. So add hashtags to your posts for people to see them.
To add them to existing posts, use Edit in the "..." menu on each post and just paste the hashtag in
BTW if you posted vinyl collection pics here with the #vinyl hashtag and maybe #music and whatever genre it is (like #blues#jazz etc), you could find some people, you have a good collection. For streaming links to go with vinyl pics I think YT links are preferred here to Spot, but whatever
there are def some dope musics posted here. You can actually follow hashtags too which is fun
always sounds to me like so much of 90s West Coast #HipHop tracks its sound and aesthetic to Roy Ayers. e.g., Dr Dre only sampled this track once, for a Detox track, but I can't help suspecting he took much more from it for his sound.
the "my life, my life, my life" tag was true Cali staple, used by Tupac, Ice Cube, Mc Eiht ("my life, my life, my life, with a tech nine").

2014 2xLP Worldwide pressing
Some outstanding early Thursday morning vibes with this one.
One of the greatest compliments you can pay ANY band is that you know it’s THEM when you hear them.
I still feel that this is their most fully realized record. Everything they do exceptionally well is on display here, and Adam Granduciel’s songwriting is at its apex.
Just stellar.
If you ever get a chance to see them live, do so.
Phenomenal. #vinyl#vinylrecords
I had an online friend who helped me to find some music and send to me.
Back in 2012 an 10" vinyl record was released under the price of $10USD or less. I asked her to buy it for me. Days later she told me she got the record and we planned to pay and then send it to me.
Suddenly she disappeared from all the Internet sites, I don't know why.
Now, that vinyl record can be found at the price from $75 to $120USD.
How I hate this so much... #VinylCollector#VinylRecords#Vinyl#MusicLover
