🎙️ I know it's only been a week, but does anybody have native visionOS apps of their own they want to show off yet? I'm happy to boost, and will probably keep this thread going up until launch
This is what Amazon Prime Video could have looked like on visionOS had they not restricted web playback on mobile Webkit.
Did all this work and then realized that Prime Video requires the Widevine plugin to be present which mobile safari does not support. Interestingly, Prime Video works on desktop Safari, and forcing the user agent on mobile Safari to be desktop Safari doesn’t work. ☹️
I was pretty excited about #visionOS parallax icons, but there's two things that I would love to see fixed:
Right now the effect works great if you have flat layers, but if you provide a layer with shadows it's gonna cast a shadow on the shadow… and it's just not a good look 😅
Microsoft Teams is now on visionOS. At this point, it almost feels like Microsoft is supporting this platform with more native productivity apps than Apple 😅
There's one kinda ugly hack in the app right now that I'm really struggling to solve. If anyone knowledgable with #mapkit can help, I’d appreciate it. This problem appears to be #visionOS specific.
Updating state of a map can cause the entire app to freeze. In order to adjust settings, I need to destroy the Map() until the sheet disappears. I'm occasionally able to crash the app just by switching focus to a different window.
This is a problem in Facades as well, and the code works on iOS.
📣 Hello! @bcapps and @mikaelacaron here–we're taking over the account to document making a new app in visionOS! 🥽
We're building an app to show albums as 3D vinyls and play them on a turntable with spatial audio. Follow along to see our progress! 👇 #visionos#buildinpublic
Great to see the "Hello World" sample app being released alongside the #visionOS SDK. It's the perfect starting point to what I want to explore with @maparoni.
For the next step in my #visionOS design journey I wanted to tackle a slightly more complicated UI, so I have rebuilt Widgetsmith's weather app into a design which fits on visionOS. This process was actually simpler than I had originally feared.
It seems like if you have built an iOS SwiftUI app using good general conventions then it is mostly just the colors and navigation chrome which needs to be revamped.
Yay, I’ll be attending a #VisionPro Lab in Munich later this month! Pretty excited to try it out and experience @zenitizer in #visionOS and have a chance to optimize it for a great “spatial meditation experience” on day one 🧘🥽🤓
If anyone will be there, too, around the 25th/26th (or just happens to be in/near Munich) and would like to hang out, feel free to ping me 😉
I have a ToolbarItem with a Menu that has a custom label. On visionOS, there is always a horizontal padding around this button. Any idea how to get rid of that?
Meet @IceCubesApp for the Vision Pro! It's available on day one as a fully native experience tailored for the #visionOS. And this is just the beginning. Maybe one day, it’ll become the best way to browse Mastodon!
