Come test out your #visionOS app at one of our labs and check out Vision Pro for yourself. Or — if you have a really great idea and need more time with hardware to make it reality — apply for a developer kit!
Relativity for Earth People is an app for everyone who wants to gain an intuitive understanding of Einstein's theory of special relativity but doesn't have the time or patience to work through the math.
Meet @IceCubesApp for the Vision Pro! It's available on day one as a fully native experience tailored for the #visionOS. And this is just the beginning. Maybe one day, it’ll become the best way to browse Mastodon!
With Vision Pro and visionOS being an all new platform with an all new interaction model, I really hope developers take the time to make the most of the extensive accessibility support Apple has built for the platform so that everyone can enjoy it.
As someone with low vision myself, I still want to enjoy your apps, but may need to bump up Dynamic Type beyond what I would on an iPad, or occasionally use VoiceOver or Zoom, and I hope apps will accommodate that.
In the immersive way that Apple brought the Mindfulness app to visionOS, they should bring that same immersive energy to Music for Apple Vision Pro with a new generation of the iTunes/Music visualizer. That would be so siiiiiiiick. #visionOS#AppleVisionPro
Day 228. Abstracting your interface in a way that can offer multiple input and output mechanisms is key when developing software with an accessibility mindset. #Apple has brought this to the next level in #visionOS.
If you're now desperately trying in vain to figure out how to actually build and submit your visionOS app through Xcode, and not seeing a ‘visionOS Device' option in the list, you need to set your Base SDK to 'auto’ (and probably regenerate your provisioning profiles on the dev center so they implicitly add 'visionOS’)
What a day! I was lucky enough to attend a Vision Pro Lab. While I can’t talk about the lab itself, it’s been a huge help in understanding the platform and its interactions.
I’ve taken loads of notes about Sequel on visionOS and am super excited to work my way through them in the coming weeks.
Thank you to all the Apple staff who have been extremely helpful! 🙏
As we think about how our apps might work on visionOS, we've been doing a little thinking outside the box^H^H^H—window.
I mentioned earlier that we’d been thinking about how you might spread out your OmniPlan Gantt chart across a whole wall. But what if you took the OmniPlan network diagram out of the windowing paradigm entirely and just placed each node in the air in front of you?
(One could also imagine doing this with OmniGraffle diagrams.)
Hi Mastodon Community 👋 - I am looking for a new role and would appreciate your support. Know anyone who needs an iOS engineering subject matter expert?
Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities you can offer. In the meantime I’m back to being an indie developer! 🎉 #OpenToWork#iosdevelopment#visionos#swiftui#mobileappdevelopment#engineeringmanagement
While we wait to hear back about the Vision Pro labs, I figured I'd put together a list of tips for how to maximize your time at a lab like this. This is based on similar past experiences. Time is your enemy at an event like this and so being efficient and thoughtful ahead of time can greatly increase what you can get done in your slot.
If I'm fortunate enough to get a slot I’ll update the article if there are things I learn specific to #visionOS which I can share.
Spectra for Prime Video is now OPEN SOURCE. I look forward to seeing this project grow to a degree that I could not make happen on my own!
🚀 Boosts Appreciated! 😃
For those who are unaware: Spectra is an app for Apple Vision Pro that allows you to watch Amazon Prime Video content. While the iPadOS app is available on #visionos, many have said it is hard to use. Spectra aims to solve that by wrapping the website in a native app using #swift and #swiftui.
As this is the first real #opensource project I’ve made, I’ve done some research and think I have setup this repository correctly. But I am open to suggestions on what things I need to look out for and what I should consider enabling or disabling to prevent unwanted things from happening.
I was zooming in on my #visionOS view to check something and as I got close I was struck but how beautiful the ‘inset' effect on segmented controls is. I’ve faked inset depth for years on iOS with drop shadows and highlight colors...but this is ACTUALLY inset into the window.
Also, I'm not sure I realized that ornaments are actually offset towards the user slightly from the main window which gives it a very subtle bit of texture too.
It's not on visionOS like the rest of my timeline (yet?) but my latest small side-project is so far an iOS RSS reader with some News influences. Aiming for something to casually browse recent posts, without encouraging completionism using unread counts or badges.
Little nervous, but it’s time to TestFlight my RSS news reader for iOS & visionOS. It’s deliberately designed as a feed for stress-free, anti-completionist reading, without unread counts.
It's a little rough around the edges, and I'm not sure if anyone’s interested in this kinda of thing, but if you are, please give it a try! https://testflight.apple.com/join/bCe8UVrf
