So let me get this straight. Gov. Abbott of TX says he’ll defy federal law because an “invasion” has happened at the border, but the GOP refuses to fix the border because that would hand Biden a political win? Have I got that right?
Do you think there are any truly credible sources of news and information?
I feel like anymore when I read something, I need to do further research, and find second or third sources for verification. So many headlines are click bait half truths, hyperbole, or just full on lies and don't get me started
on YouTube "News".
@RickiTarr IMO: The digital age and demise of much of the media and capture by #CorporateOligarchy has exacerbated this problem, but it has always been the case the media entities had their own slant/bias. In my youth, it was necessary to read between the lines in MSM such as Time and Newsweek with each having its own perspective. At least those of us with enough skill can seek out various sources. Sadly, Joe and Joanne Sixpack (a dated reference admittedly) do not often have the skills needed.
@ThomHartmann While Europe uses the “precautionary principle” that prevents chemicals from being introduced into the environment or food supply until they’re proven safe, here in the US we use Libertarianism: we only ban chemicals after they’ve been in use long enough to kill so many people that we realize they’re dangerous.
A Slow-Rolling Disaster in Fracking Country
Ex-employees at “West Virginia’s Chernobyl” speak out on lethal cancers, regulatory failure and contaminated drinking water.
“the facility is situated on a hill approximately 142 feet above the nearby Monongahela River,” a source of drinking water for communities across northern West Virginia, and further downstream in Pennsylvania, including the city of Pittsburgh. https://www.truthdig.com/articles/a-slow-rolling-disaster-in-fracking-country/

Maybe it feels satisfying to see the US elite in discomfort because we’re so unlikely to see them face accountability in normal life.
#ClimateEmergency#CorporateOligarchy#Capitalism "This civilization is gone. This world is gone. It already ended for millions of people. Some of us just haven't felt it yet. It was never an easy one for most of us. It was never fair, but there was a level of predictability. There was a level of comfort and convenience. That's gone now. Things aren't going to get better. They're not going to get back to the way they were."

I find it hard to believe that they will not do this. What evidence is there that they would not do this? Only real hope is that there are just enough non-#Fascist GOP in the House to vote with Dems. https://www.alternet.org/lawless-gop-lawmakers-election/
"ORDINARY PEOPLE BY THE MILLIONS
A conversation on current US politics with Thomas Frank."
Frank lays out exactly what has happened in the US. Including the main villains being the Clinton DEMs. He also alludes to the destruction of the MSM. What he seems to miss, IMO, is that the capture of the MSM and extinction of local newspapers is the very reason the mass movements one which he pins his hopes are unable to gain traction. Unlike in the past. #corporateoligarchy
