@gregggonsalves @AnneSosin People with their own agendas misunderstood ACT UP then and now. Circa 1990 a couple lawyers came to ACT UP/Los Angeles asking us to do a protest in support of a doc who was being prosecuted for obvious quackery and some deceived patients who wanted to keep being able to take his snake oil. They assumed that a) we would naturally support something "alternative," even with no science behind it, and b) that we were essentially rent-a-demonstration. Ick.
