It’s up there with how to wire a plug. I know how to do it, but I always have to double check which wire goes to which pin. Always. I have wired dozens of plugs in my time. Dozens.

Bit of an odd one, but can any other #macOS #Safari users confirm the following behaviour?

If you pin a tab in a regular personal tab group, the tab will shrink to a small square, but if you pin a tab in a named tab group it’ll stay the same size as the others.

If this is expected behaviour, why?

I’ve tried with a Personal and a Work window, and it happens across both.

Not for the first time I find myself browsing the internet for a cost effective thunderbolt 2 adapter for my old MacBook, and once again I’m amazed at how much that shit still costs.

Also, how it’s almost impossible to find among the reams and reams of thunderbolt 3 /usb-c devices.

Spent the past week pondering setting up a home media server, wondering what extraordinarily inexpensive old PC I could find on eBay.

Then remembered the 2011 MacBook Pro I have. It's running Sonoma through OCLP (reasonably well, I might add), and is otherwise completely unused.

So am now looking at the price of an 8tb hard drive for it. And the prices aren't too shabby...

Did that thing of faffing on the internet for an hour this morning because I need to set up my system for my radio show on Monday and it’s all a bit unknown.

When I did it before it was all from an iPad, which, bizarrely, wasn’t that complicated once I got the right apps in place. But setting up Mixxx (software I’ve never used) felt daunting.

Well, I’m almost ready, I think.

Just need to figure out whether the mic fader is working properly.

I think it very important to quietly highlight some things I do despite my stupid #ADHD brain not wanting me to, as a kind reminder to myself that I’m not completely useless.

As a result, the single tiniest triumph in my day is when I take off my trainers by undoing the laces.

I didn’t do that for a couple of weeks, and noticed they were beginning to wear away at the heel. They cost me quite a lot, so I want them to last. So every day I put in a few seconds effort, and praise myself.

Lots of #iPad-chuntering in the #Apple-sphere ahead of the announcements next week, and honestly, I think it’s Apple’s approach to the iPad that pisses me off the most.

It’s where it’s most obvious that they like money and don’t want to have to sacrifice any. So they charge £1250 for an iPad Pro that has the raw processing power to be an incredible computer, but they crippled it with iPadOS in order to incentivise people to also buy a Mac.

Was woken by the cat scratching at the bedroom door, as is his wont just as my alarm is about to go off. My alarm hadn’t gone off, but I looked at my watch and it looked like it was about to, so I got up.

Closed the bedroom door quietly so as to not disturb my wife.

None of the lights were on, as they should be.

Look again at my watch.

It’s not 5:30. It’s 4:30 and the cat is an arsehole.

I’m trying to find information on the people we’re supposed to be voting for in the council elections today, and it ain’t easy.

They’ve all spent a fortune on shit to throw through our door, all of which has been funneled into the recycling, but basically none of them have a website with any information.

How hard is it in this day and age to throw up a quick, single page site that simply lists your plans, with a link to your socials?
