    When I used to do improv, one of my favorite things to do was reverse the stakes. Either making low stakes things high stakes.
    "He doesn't have his Costco card and he's trying to get in! Detain him in the interrogation room!"

    Or making high stakes things low stakes.
    "Bob, you killed my entire family, and I think you owe me an apology."

    The same is true for writing as well, or having fun with friends here. I do love arguing over minutia like all of our lives depend on it. It's a fun way to pass the time.

    Early in Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars, a traveling colonist is reflecting on the psychological screening procedures used to narrow down and select the final group of colonists, and comes to the realization that the system used, instead of selecting the most psychologically healthy applicants, actually selected the highest functioning sociopaths capable of gaming that system.

    Seriously, if any of you "very serious people" want some advice on what you can do to stop the fascists, I think you entire approach on how you talk to them needs to change.

    You're starting from the idea that these people are dupes, primarily because you are NOT a fascist, so you don't really understand how people can KNOWINGLY choose fascism - thus you assume grandpa has been tricked.

    This is not so, no matter how much they lie to you about it.

    Slice and Dice is a minimalist roguelike where battles consist mostly of choosing which to lock in and which to reroll, and then choosing what order to use rolled result of the dice + which enemy to target. And even though the progression basically boils down to replacing a die or modifying its faces, this simplicity belies an incredible depth of gameplay.
