@stux I have mixed feelings. On one hand, it would REALLY improve Siri. On the other hand, practically all AI at the moment is problematic, and there's no reason why Apple's attempt would be any different.
@lukhash Teletext itself isn't a thing here in the UK, but you can sometimes access Red Button on BBC One and BBC Two (mainly during news programs), which serves the same purpose.
You also used to be able to play games using Red Button on the kids' channels (Cbeebies and CBBC); but that might not be a thing anymore, since I haven't watched either channel since the early 2010s.
@stux I mean, back in 2021, I kinda figured 2024 was going to be the year when (even if all hell doesn't break loose) the stakes are highest. After all, there are a lot of elections happening, a few treaties and agreements expiring, and also the year a lot of people and companies said they would do things by.
@astian I heard you guys were planning to release Midori on iOS. Is there a TestFlight or IPA yet? Or is the project still in an early stage of development?
@noellemitchell I've been using Bluesky for a while, and my circle is very nice. Is it better than Fedi? Not really. It's just different. Am I going to keep using it? Until things start getting paywalled or full of ads, by which point I would imagine there will be other, better, and decentralised implementations of AT that I could move to.
#Firefox is by far the best browser on desktop. Let me be clear, I am not saying that because I am ideologically opposed to using Google products. I use YouTube and Google Workspaces. Chrome genuinely has nothing to offer over Firefox. If your website doesn't work in Firefox then I'm not using your website.
@darth@Gargron The browser engine options are even worse on Qt, since QtWebKit hasn't been updated in a while, leaving only QtWebEngine (which is based on Blink).
What I would like to do is either resurrect KHTML; or try to get Servo, NetSurf, or Libweb into a usable state.
@jeremy_list@Konstantin@Gargron Not to mention that Google deliberately slows down some webpages (e.g. YouTube) if you have a non-Chrome user agent. It's the classic formula of "create a problem, sell a solution".
They're right. I'm going to rethink everything. Literally everything. My choices. My occupation. My sense of humor. My understanding of the laws of thermodynamics. My level of apathy when it comes to earthworms and all the earthworm things they do.
