@RickiTarr on the "other side" (in some ways)... when you describe at-times-debilitating to someone and they (well-meaningly) respond with things like:

  • "Yeah I worry about things sometimes too"

  • "Try not to worry about it"

To my fellow or otherwise folks…

I would appreciate any tips on how to use Mastodon without it causing overwhelm/getting lost in it.

🧠My blend of has a REAL hard time with this kind of platform (never got Twitter either), but I’m drawn to the community & connection here.

I’m like instantly a confounded 105-year-old when it comes to Mastodon/Twitter 🙃

Ps - I’ve seen @actuallyautistic but not clear how that even works

@actuallyautistic @holyramenempire thank you. Yeah more of a specific for neurodivergent users.

I’ve actually read a TON about how to use Mastodon, and the principles of the fediverse, etc.

I doubt I’m alone in this, but reading all about things doesn’t always translate to knowing how to use it in a way that works for my brain :)

The art/writing is a looong story (this is why I will forever suck at micro platforms!) In response to what should be a simple question, my brain feels the need to download my life story. 🙄

The last 10 years, my art/writing has been completely dedicated to my online educational nonprofit. It kind of grew to consume me entirely, though. I erased more and more of myself to keep it going.

I'm trying to find a way/place for all the other parts of me to live again...
