The way John Gruber writes about the EU feels insulting at this point.

I’m sensing it as the same kind of rhetoric that was used by Brexiters about 10 years ago — dumbing down the narrative to the point of disregarding some of the most important aspects that have lead to the DMA.

His way of constantly implying that Apple’s anticompetitive practices can be justified because they make for better experiences is often just based on the false assumption that people are dumber than they really are.

@michaelsteeber has already made the best maps app for Apple Vision Pro. BitMaps is amazing. I mean, this is what Apple should’ve shipped the native Maps app on day one, and they blew it.

As a map nerd, I’m very excited for when this app ships.

World-changing technology is only obvious in hindsight; it's quite plausible that a child born today is going to have visionOS-based glasses by the time they are a teenager, instead of a smartphone. They will quite literally perceive the world completely differently to how we do today. How do we plan for that?

Not to fact-check a fun blog post or anything, but, no, visionOS doesn't have circular checkboxes.

Like iOS, it doesn't include a checkbox control at all in UIKit, just a toggle switch.

Like iOS, back to the stone age, there's a standard circular checkmark for multi-selecting items in a table view or grid.

And, also like iOS, there's a square checkbox in WebKit.
