Thought I'd have a look at sorting out the slightly sticky dropper post on the mountain bike, it's a Fox Transfer. A bit of online investigation reveals that special tools are required, the tool for separating the two tube bits alone is £509 !!! Sending it away for service comes in at about £120 with postage. If I ever decide to fix it, I'll just chuck it away and buy another one I can fix myself. Come on Fox, what are you playing at? It's ridiculous that it's effectively non user serviceable.

Today has been mostly about cutting and stacking firewood. I started the day using my petrol chainsaw. I always feel guilty about that because what is the point of heating my house with in-cycle carbon if I'm using out-of-cycle carbon to process it? So I switched to using Lucy's sunlight powered chainsaw, and that feels a lot better.

I find it difficult to write about the post office scandal. In part, this because of the complexity and my want to read and master all the relevant texts before doing commentary.

But it is also because the makes me so livid I suspect I would lose all objectivity and my posts would become long rants. So so bad, in so many ways, and because of so many avoidable failures.

Pre Lockdown it was reasonably possible to go for an afternoon dog walk in Glencoe in the popular places. Post lockdown that's pretty much impossible, why? Because every conceivable place you can park a vehicle is rammed solid, and by car is the only realistic way to get there. For example, the last two midweek afternoons I've fancied going to the hidden valley I couldn't as no possible place to park reasonably close. Same with other spots, if you aren't there at sparrows fart, forget it.

Was at the vet in Coal today, went for a walk along the beach. There are two wrecked ships on the shore, an old fishing vessel and this sailing boat. Looks like she was built for speed.

Been away for the weekend. Had a wonderful time. Came home to find the house had been burgled. Not yet sure what is missing. Place is in a mess.
