NASA and Boeing are getting comfortable launching Starliner with a known leak

Fixing the helium leak would likely delay the Starliner crew test flight several months.

Almost everyone who says "Mastodon didn't work for me" on Bluesky seems to have posted only "me me me" stuff for months (if that) on Mastodon, followed about 10-20 people, never replied to anyone and then gave up because "nobody there, it didn't fly".

It seems there is a big misunderstanding how this free and healthy social media works. We are not here for the easy wins, likes, shares and dopamine spikes. We are here because we accept the fact we are not part of the commercial hype machine. We choose natural engagement over spoiling algorithms, we choose conversation and meaning in our social media. At least that is how I see it.

KellicTiger,
@KellicTiger@tiggi.es avatar

@rolle and this is why Linux is in the same boat as Mastodon. The users think that your computing wrong. In this case your social mediaing wrong. Well I'm not totally disagreeing with you. Telling people you're doing it wrong isn't going to convert anyone to this platform. Social media has thrived because of interactions. For good or bad. People like those clicks...... It gives them a bit of dopamine.

There are literally thousands of games on Steam, let alone console emulators that let you do single player. There are old school exceptions on Steam where its 1on1 or a private group (Like L4D2) where its still fun to play or they aren't aggressive about anti cheating. The rest rest of the crap out there.....you do you. Life is too short to get bent out of shape with cheaters, or getting banned because of a driver, or having your hardware banned.

"Exploiting the flaw requires already obtained administrative privileges in the web interface used to configure and control the BMCs"

And here's the real issue. These things should be on their own subnet/VPN and isolated from the rest of the world where you need to be on a dedicated jump server to access a BMC / IPMI interface. Corps freak the f*ck out about IPMI when its no different than any other interface. The end result is they refuse to enable IPMI resulting in the inability for us to support it for our company. Customers are too stupid to know how to boot into a recovery environment, lsblk, and repair a volume....meaning we have to do it.
Lock it down with lockout policies, require SSL certs, and isolate it and you are perfectly fine.
