@peterbutler @rustoleumlove @w7voa I say nothing about agreeing or disagreeing with the law. The Supreme Court has given a pass to some people for breaking these laws, citing free speech. What I question is a SCOTUS justice flouting the law in such a public manner. But again, we've learned recently, the laws don't apply to them.

This is the most expensive stamp I've ever bought but isn't it lovely? It will take a lot of practice to perfect and will take a long time to stamp out onto a project but I hope it will be worth it for the beauty it will grace upon the leather.
(Also one of my most complex captions I have ever had to explain.)

Designed and whipped up a few of these yesterday. I've seen something like them a few years ago and they are much more refined than the company branded bean bag phone stand I used to use. Plus, these fold flat and take up very little space. Now that everyone uses two factor authorization I have to keep my mobile on my desk.

Criminy. I find I'm always in the position of making people feel good about their "beliefs" but always finding they're full of shit. A friend waxed poetic about how upset is he is about the state of the world and I gave him three specific actions he could take to change things. He says he can't. STFU already.

The same person who moaned about the state of the world but wouldn't accept any of my ideas for actions he could effect to change things is the same person who, again and again spoke to me about making him a new portfolio for his modeling portfolio. I did but he complained this binding needed to be different. When I brought it up last night he said he doesn't want it anymore. All that work for nothing. Someone will buy it but I could have been doing other things.

I think it may be fun to do some wood carving outside this summer (because I don't have enough hobbies). To this end, I bought some basic carving knives to go with some chisels I already had. I think the case they came in is pretty cheap so I made this tool roll out of leather for better and safer storage. #HandMade #DIY #leather #WoodCarving #whittling #HandCrafted #HandSewn

The interior of the whittling tools pouch has individual pockets for each tool and one large pocket for the sharpening strop, sandpaper and more. New blade protectors are thicker, more snug and provide greater protection of stored tools. The chisels are protected with robber tops cut to fit from tubing. The case and blade protectors are hand stitched from Italian leather in shades of medium tan and cranberry.
The case rolls up and is fastened closed with a light tan leather strap and gunmetal silver buckle into a neat bundle.

I'm new to this whole therapy thing but so far what I've gotten out of it is:
1.) My feelings are justified because the world IS going to hell in a handbasket. Many other people are going through the same things. There's nothing any of us can do about it.
2.) I should see a specialist so they can prescribe me drugs that will make it so I don't care the world is going to hell in a handbasket & then I can get back to working 70 hours a week for our corporate overlords. That's just how life is.

@Lizette603_23 Thank you for your heart felt advice. It doesn't feel like this therapist is for me but I'm seeing someone new in a few weeks and hoping for the best. There has to be a better a life than the one I'm living, though I'm trying to make the best of it.
Your 603 wouldn't happen to be NH, would it? I'm there all the time and am having brunch there this morning. So beautiful. I could get lost in their woods and not mind.

I finally finished my air dry clay scorpion bowl. It's like tiki meets folk art.

The underside of the bowl decorated with mermaid tails and fish. The tails are painted iridescent green and blue. The fish are red and orange. The background is turquoise blue. There's a small inverted bowl on the bottom that acts as a stand for the bowl.
The bowl shot side on so both the inside and outside are seen together.

I hate FB. I deactivated my account a decade ago. They won't allow you to delete it. Every 6 months or so they tell me my account has been reactivated and I have to investigate whether the emails are legit (they are) and whether someone hacked my attached email address and where logins are coming from (they haven't.) It's just FB fucking with me. No company should be allowed to do this a decade later. It's a time suck.

After a while you sell it to someone and they pay sales tax. They later sell it to their 16 year old neighbor and the neighbor pays sales tax. All these transactions are for the same automobile.

@Rasta They do the same here. It could be missing doors and a rear bumper and you'll pay highest blue book value. Same with excise tax. To make matters worse, you pay sales tax, which is a "use tax" then your town charges you excise tax which is a "use tax."

The first step in turning bacon fat into lard for is to clean the grease, aka render it.
Place grease into a pot with twice as much water as grease. Bring to a boil and boil for 15 minutes, until grease and water are well combined. Don't allow this mixture to boil over or you'll start a fire. After boiling, refrigerate until the grease hardens. The grease will float to the top and the water and impurities will sink. Scoop the grease from the top and save it. Discard the dirty water.

After much delay, I have finally finished rendering my bacon grease into fat for soap making. I rendered it eight times. It's now free of impurities and virtually scent free. Soon I'll make more soap.

@dan613 @Nerdfest As to that, you could render it fewer times to maintain the bacon scent. That is only if you don't mind dodging people and animals trying to eat you because you smell like bacon. :)
