White sand creekside beach with washed up debris. Dune plants (the same flowers, and long grasses blowing in the wind). Further away are the ocean beach and a large rock island with a tree on top. Blue sky, white cloud.

Stone, sod, sundial. Central Otago, New Zealand. at , wall at . And when I looked over the by the sod wall.. I found the . Pics taken 07 December 2023.

Above the mown area a weathered wooden gate spans between the sod building and a post. To the far left at the back are the trunk and branches of a large pine tree. Blue sky, plume of white cloud.
This is what I saw when I looked over the gate. A green sloped lawn with a mossy stone sundial set in a round, shallow depression. Long weed grasses hide the base of the sundial. Beyond the basic wire fence sheep graze in rough pasture beneath a gentle hill slope topped with a low formation of solid rock.

Pink-flowered manuka, in various forms, with green lawn around the group, and other trees in the background and off to both sides. The next two photos are shots from the right-hand side of this group.

Central to this photo is a white magnolia flower with most petals held softly vertical at the centre and a few wavy outer petals lying horizontally.

Distant view of one side of the church, which is sitting well beyond a green hedge. Sky has a little blue colour showing, but mostly light white cloud. Much of the top foreground has branches of white spring blossom from a tree I was standing under.
Across the road from the church is a green pastoral flat, there were sheep grazing in the field. Brightly sunlit, blue sky and light white clouds. The front pedestrian entry has a small plain iron gate with a central heart and a cross on top of the heart - within the 'x' shape of diagonal supports. There's a low front fence shorter than the gate. Either side of the gate is the back of the church signboard (left) and a shrubby tree with new spring growth (right). And a concrete pedestrian path with tree shadow, and green lawn either side.

The bell can be seen through large gaps because the bell section has narrow pillars with gaps between, and arched tops between pillars. A cross sits atop both church and the turret of the tower. Pink magnolia 03: a closer view of the top part of the magnolia with branches covered in deep pink blossom set against a clear blue sky. Faintly visible through a gap is a kowhai tree beyond with golden yellow blossom.
Then I spotted beautiful white blossom below the pink magnolia, so this is a shot from further down - a tree with large pure white magnolia flowers and the same pink magnolia from before in the background. To the right of the photo is the golden yellow kowhai blossom, and beyond all these is a clear blue sky.

Spring garden party, yesterday at Dunedin Botanic Garden, New Zealand

Small branch of pink blossom set against an amazing backdrop of a tree festooned in long pink tassels. Wow!
The same view, this time with the tree and the long pink tassels in focus.
There's no spring fling without golden trumpets.. big daffodil flowers with large showy golden-yellow petals and trumpets.

Ducks in Dunedin Botanic Garden, yesterday. New Zealand

The duck with a white head and rich brown body is a female paradise shelduck (native). Won't put up with any nonsense from the far more numerous ordinary ducks! Hanging out on a paved area that's near the main pond, cafe and information centre - where they're often given food hand-outs!
Lovely smooth all-white duck, beautiful animal. Yellow beak and orange legs and feet. Standing on a green lawn with a mallard drake dabbling at the grass just behind her.
Three ducks together, lined up on the lawn. The all-white duck looking sweet, a male duck in the middle - another quacker in mid-quack, and on his other side a female mallard. They all look very companionable.
