A really striking building we saw today while walking through Lakeview in Chicago. I love green color! The weather was perfect. Warm with just a hint of cold in the air.

Throughout the 1800s and early 1900s, Glasgow and its surrounding communities were home to a large and diverse range of brickworks, each of which stamped their own mark on their products. This sample from a small area of the foreshore below Dumbarton Castle gives you a fair idea of this diversity.
Mural in Andersonville, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Andersonville is a cozy neighbourhood on Chicago's North Side. It is traditionally Chicago's Swedish neighbourhood though it is now a slightly more older hipster one now.
I just love the mish mash of #materials and #building styles that the multi-period #historic towns of provincial #England serve up. There’s joy to be found in the chaos everywhere you look! I’m all for freedom of expression and variety. Although I do draw the line at the crapola allowed by #urban planners in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. #Vernacular#Architecture#Stone#Brick#Timber
I needed some specific headphone parts and ended up ordering them from Temu. While there I noticed "block flower" kits at really cheap prices, so decided to get one.
The instructions had minor errors on brick count, the bricks were tiny and some were fiddly to place (the entire dome is about 12cm high), I had no idea when I ordered that it could light up.
Overall an entertaining experience. Now I need to decide what I'm going to do with it...
Another thing I love about the Fediverse: I feel it’s a safe space to share a nice bit of brickwork. A place where nobody will think it’s weird that I took a photo of a bit of a wall just because I liked the look of the brick and timber. I’m going to tag this #Brick. And #Timber.
