I grew up in the wilds of Idaho. I learned to race sailboats on the Snake river. Through desire and mistake I moved from the Inland Northwest to Northern Virginia. I liked Idaho, but I love Virgina. I am Married with one daughter who is now attending college at VCU in Richmond Virginia. I generally align with democratic values and significantly deviate from my parents in that respect.
I love to tinker with electronics and software. I write software for a living.

    I'm messing around with on google. I want to do some of my own picture investigations.

    I finally was able to retrieve 'mediaItems'. Now on to ingesting them into a little database... I think I'm going to go with . Just because I need some experience with it.

    Might as well use so I can be reminded how much I dislike it.

    This is one of my favorite albums for programming music.

    Funny thing is I never realized that it was a 2 cd set... For the first time I listened to the second cd in the jewel case.

    It was bangin' Good enough that I had to stop programming for a bit to listen to what was going on. Wonderful!

    For me, I'm starting the day off my usual S'mores flavored iced coffee and just going to rest and relax. Yesterday was a very lazy day and I hope to do more of the same today.

    @cliffwade it was amazingly uneventful. There are advantages to agonizing about having to do it. I thought through all the potential failures between midnight and three am this morning.

    @ChristosArgyrop I bought the R Package by Hadley Wickham for reading on an airplane. I tossed the book in the garbage at the end of the journey after uninstalling R.

    Any other home owners out there? I'm living in a 30+ year old houses and I continue to find interesting things that need to be fixed.

    Most recent exciting adventure: Returning from vacation at 11:00pm to find the house temperature hovering around 42℉

    I found that the furnace fuse had popped. Fortunately I had one to replace it.

    Anyway, if anyone wants to swap home improvement stories, I would like to hear them.
