Come on #Scotland, I need a foolproof recipe for #TattieScones or potato scones if you would prefer but not potato farles. The shops in Cornwall, for some reason have stopped selling them, even the tory Warburton ones have vanished. So please help a Scottish lass in exile in Cornwall to remember hame wi a good recipe and tell me how you make yours? I can get proper black pud and square sausage nae bother but hame made tattie scones have tae be the best, nae? #Help #Recipes

Okay, let me get this straight. Some people who have no connection to mastodon accounts or, are claiming to be on the board of directors of a platform run by loads of individuals for nothing more than the challenge of doing it in most cases.

Isn't this the same as me claiming to be on the board if directors of the universe?

Sorry but you can't be a director of something that isn't owned, just by forming a company. Mastodon will simply step to one side and leave you scratching your head.

Good grief, this weather is endless and really getting me down. Last night the rain was so heavy I had to pull over for almost an hour as visibility was reduced so badly. Today it's precipitating persistently AGAIN! Absolutely baltic too, it's almost May and I'm wondering if I should put the heating on - I won't of course, can't afford that, I have a thick Oodie and lots of layers.

@Geri The video captioned 'Watch: Gaza protesters clash with police at Emory University' explains exactly how the BBC and other news channels are seeing this. The students are clashing with police. Let's get this right, unarmed students peacefully protesting are clashing with armed police in riot gear with snipers on University rooftops.

That all seems totally legitimate.

And the nasty party in the UK want to be able to do the same here.

Dearest people, a little while ago at work, I swapped someone's laptop over for one that wasn't running badly. We had suspicions about this person and what he was using the laptop for alongside work and found lots of files that got them sacked instantly. Since then I have been looking through the deleted files and here is the warning. If you delete a file, you don't actually delete it. Most of the time it can be recovered. Keep your work machines just for work. You will be caught.

If you good people need to say something, say it, don't say one thing and mean something else, or claim you meant something else when someone replies. I just tried to reply to a toot that went along these lines and simply couldn't, no words could put right what was spun to their meanings, sometimes it is simply easier to block the idiots and move on rather than be right and argue.

Now, I thought I had most of this sort of thing taken care of but the other day I searched (DDG) on my laptop using Firefox, behind a VPN with ad, tracking and malware blocked for a local holiday park. I followed a link to the local rather than national number on on the holiday park site. Today, TripAdvisor sent me 3 emails about booking a trip to this holiday park near where I live. I don't use TripAdvisor on my laptop but fortunately have a mail alias (now deleted) for it on my phone. BLOCKED!

Dear Omaze, kindly stop giving away million pound houses in Cornwall. We have enough second and third property owners here and really don't need any more.

For those wondering what the problem is:
There is now almost nowhere for people to long term rent.
Because if this, the house prices are unaffordable on minimum wage.
If people can't live here all rear round, you, the people with multiple homes are going to have to staff all the shops, pubs, drive the taxis etc. Good luck with that.

I had a message yesterday from a friend who rescued 26 battery hens. They live in her barn most of the time but are allowed to go where they want.

The message read 'The girls are laying again, how many eggs do you want?

The girls lay an egg most days and are swapped for feed money.

So I'll be picking up a couple of dozen later. Back to baking, omelette and fritatta.

Dear tech people out there, and I know there are many. My best friend set a rider account up with Deliveroo for her husband, thinking it would save time for him. Unfortunately the application/account stalled and Deliveroo support had issues finding the account at all. The application has now been withdrawn but the account is still active despite requests for deletion.

How can she have all the account data removed so that HE can create a new one with his locked phone number?

So, I live in South East Cornwall, home of the day fishing boats and fowey mussels. You'd think I could get some decent seafood but apparently not. Out of 2 bags of mussels, one was rotten, the other not great, prawns off and squid frozen. No wonder this country has gone down the pan. We can't even do the simple things.

So, please correct me if I'm wrong. Corbyn was pro Palestinian and as such antisemitic and booted out of labour. Two more have stood up against Israel in support of stopping the genocide being inflicted on Gaza and they're booted out of labour for antisemitism too. Seems to be a pattern here...I am certainly not antisemitic but I am very much against what Israel is doing to Gaza. Seems that there are two political parties who don't see the difference.

UK employment is shit.

You get a job, on a zero hour contract at minimum wage but they will guarantee you 15 hours a week. Great until they tell you that they can't guarantee you what days you can work so there's no way of getting a second or third job to pay the bills. But there's lots of jobs out there so don't be a lazy bastard.
