UK people:

Yes, this is an exciting chance to get rid of the tories. Let's not get complacent, though. It's not enough to just vote tactically. We need to talk to our friends and family members and anyone who will listen about how important it is to make Starmer the Prime Minister.

He might not be your first choice for the job, but it's who we have. The alternative is too horrendous to imagine.

So let's do this. Let's make sure we get this job done.

RyuKurisu,
@RyuKurisu@fosstodon.org avatar

@JoeRess meanwhile, here in the Netherlands (6 months after the elections) we've yet to know who will be our prime minister, because they've opted for an extraparlementair government ✌️😏

@GrapheneOS I'm not sure how to triage this but when I install and sign in to @tailscale the Internet stops working (yes, even when I disable Tailscale!)

What could be happening here? 🤔

RyuKurisu,
@RyuKurisu@fosstodon.org avatar

@GrapheneOS okay, but @tailscale is only for connecting to Tailscale devices and should let the rest of the Internet packets go through unhindered 🤔 (I've had it forcing o working before)

Anyway, my current build number is 2024050700, but I've had this issue for a few months (had it not installed for at least 2 months, if I had to bet).

I'm running on stable, because this is me primary phone ✌️😎

RyuKurisu,
@RyuKurisu@fosstodon.org avatar

@GrapheneOS the hint about "leak blocking" solved it.

In settings I went to VPN, clicked the cog wheel of Tailscale and disabled the "Block all non-VPN connections" (or however the correct English listing is; my device is set to Dutch ✌️😅).

I'll see if I can make a bug report on the code repository of @tailscale!

I work in IT, but I don't work in desktop IT, so I don't have any special rights to do anything on my own personal work computer. It's just as locked down as anybody else's. I can sudo to root on our servers, but I can't change my desktop wallpaper. Recently, corporate decided to hide Desktop in Quick Access, so I can't save to my desktop without going to c:\users\mike\Desktop. Plus, it's only hidden, not removed, so it's technically there and can't be added back. ARGGGG!

I really cannot recommend enough. This app is perfect for sending files and text from one device to another.

https://localsend.org/

I have a hardware project that uses Android and is a pain to type or browse on. With LocalSend, those annoyances can be resolved with my PC and sent over the network, no configuration needed.

RyuKurisu,
@RyuKurisu@fosstodon.org avatar

@bluesabre couldn't you do the same (and probably a lot more) with KDE Connect?

Also it transforms into AnywhereSend if you use Tailscale, according to @popey ✌️😏

"Due to a bug in rpm-ostree, the '/etc/[g]shadow[-]' files in Fedora CoreOS, Fedora IoT and Fedora Atomic Desktops have the world-readable bit set.

To fix impacted systems immediately, run the following command as root:

🍕🚀 Your browser experience, just like your favorite pizza, should be fully customizable to suit your tastes. And at Vivaldi, your feedback is the secret sauce that makes it all possible! 🌟

But like any great recipe, sometimes the ingredients don't quite blend as intended.

After the release of Vivaldi 6.6 on Android, our efforts to unify menus and toolbars led to unintended consequences.

📝 Get a rundown of what happened after the release of Vivaldi 6.6 on Android, where we turned your feedback into meaningful action. 👇🏻

@Vivaldi where can I supply feedback? Because I find it difficult to believe that I can't add different search engines on Vivaldi Android (probably iOS as well, but I can't confirm). ¯\(ツ)/¯

So I'm a bit baffled by what's happening on my home server. I've got a software-RAID with 4 disks (RAID 10 with 4TB disks as /heb/sda mounted as ~/data). I've used about 17% (df -h) but multiple commands give a "disk is full" error. Most weird one is the inode count of 0 0 (df -hi).

Anyone in the community who has any idea what might be the issue? Updates will be reactions to this thread.

Maybe my friend @mmeier has any suggestions? Magic block? Partition table?

Youngest son: So guess what dad…yesterday we had a fire drill in school!

Me: Really?

Him: Yeah! And if it was a real fire, the cooks would die because they didn’t come out.

Him: [thinking…]

Still him: But it’s ok because if they got burnt, they could blow out the fire and put a plaster on it.

Me: Oh good. 😅
