Built-in ChatGPT-driven Copilot will transform Windows 11 starting in June

Copilot is coming alongside another batch of new Windows 11 features this year.

@arstechnica I'm really curious to see if this will do local processing for documents. That would be pretty sweet to have built into the operating system and run locally

Google Assistant kills off support for third-party note apps

The Google Assistant continues to circle the drain, with yet another feature loss.

@arstechnica

I thought about going all-in on that feature for my grocery list once they announced the second change. Glad I didn't!

Stuff like this is a big part of why I've been actively trying to migrate most of my day-to-day activities off of Google platforms.

@jerry does this app use SSTV to encode the image? 😆

TIL there is such a thing as a PANA (Polycule Assigned Numbers Authority).

It's basically a person fulfilling the role of a RIR within all of their non-cohabitating bfs/gfs, allocating RFC1918 address space so they can peer their networks over site-to-site VPNs without address space collisions.

Never really thought about this before but I can totally see how it'd be a problem if you didn't have some level of coordination.

@azonenberg we were gonna switch to IPv6 to avoid this issue but one of the couples involved has a One Protocol Policy

I found this thread by @maegul to be a pretty reasonable summary of the major points. Obviously it's coming from someone on the instance in question so take everything with a grain of salt, but it more or less tracks with what I've dug up myself trying to piece together what happened with .

    Wow. It has been a long, long time since I heard a busy signal, but the Alaska Airlines customer help line (888-345-3640) and the main line (800-654-5669) give me an "All circuits are busy" and a busy signal, respectively. Le wow.

    So I'm having a surprisingly hard time getting my stable diffusion model to create a borg version of me. It must not have been trained on a lot of Star Trek!

    What are nerdy tech people using to backup their home/personal computers nowadays? I've been using Backblaze's backup for a few years now but the price is just too much for lots of computers.

    Most of the open source solutions seem to have really clunky restore workflows and no global search for deleted files, which is basically a non-starter for me. Of the ones I've tested Arq 7 seems to be the front-runner for now.

    It's kind of annoying how many porn accounts post to the and similar hashtags. I wish they would at least throw a not safe for work tag on the posts so the filter I have configured would skip them in my feed. 😒
