Florida man: Fugitive John Mark Dougan fled to Moscow and runs more than 150 pro-Russia/pro-Trump disinformation sites targeting Americans. Previously a US Marine and Sheriff's Deputy, he fled to Russia after committing election fraud and numerous other crimes.
By far my favourite bit of architectural ironwork in Glasgow, and possibly anywhere in the world! It can be found on D.B. Dobson's 1902 Art Nouveau commercial building at 50 Darnley Street in Glasgow.
Okay, this might sound weird, but this is what I'm thinking of today. I'm assuming most of you know the idiom, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." I know it's about looking at the horse's teeth to check it's age and health, but in my heart I have an alternate history where it's about The Trojan Horse, which doesn't really even make much sense, but it's still living there rent free.
So, does anyone else do this, make up alternate histories for words or phrases? If you do, I'd love examples!
I like how social media and news sites call it your "feed". Makes me feel like a farm animal getting fattened up for slaughter so I can be divided up and sold piecemeal to advertisers.
i just genuinely do not want a computer to ‘summarize’ anything for me and i don’t understand that want. it’s either worth it to me to engage with something a human wrote or it isn’t, i have no desire for some weird in-between experience. and it’s completely bizarre to me that people do want that.
@brhfl People use these services because they are time poor and want things made easy. In practice, these summaries are often longer than the original and input incorrect information.
