My Apple Card is expiring this summer, and the replacement physical card arrived in the mail today. Activating was super-duper easy—just bring it in close proximity to your iPhone and tap a button or two on screen. Done.
But what do I do with the old card? It's titanium so it's not easily destroyed.
I've had metal Amex cards since 2010 or so. When Amex sends a replacement card, they include a return envelope custom made for mailing them your expired card for recycling.
@masukomi a made up term since 2021 to “explain” why everyone is always sick now - the claim was that because people didn’t get infected with stuff during the short time pandemic measures where in place (masking, some isolation, working from home, laughable “lockdowns”) that their immune systems were out of practice so the solution was to “catch up” on every pathogen until you reached equilibrium again. Which is complete nonsense and based on wishful thinking.
I’ve located a rocky outcrop on the south western end of Triangle Island off the coast of Vancouver Island and this is where I will construct my fortress of solitude.
This story is a great example of how journalists act like they have amnesia. After 1.5 years of watching Elon run Twitter based on whims and fits of rage, there’s no secret genius reason why he fired the entire supercharger team.
@gglockner@carnage4life “I feel like Elon is just too smart to screw this up that bad in a rash decision. He must have a plan. Not that I will like the plan, and not that the plan will be good for Tesla owners! But he must have one. Maybe there are 500 engineers in China that we just hired?”
@jadugar63@gglockner yep. Late stage capitalism at its best. Why make a good product and sell it when you can just screw the system and make out like a bandit. You don’t need a product anymore - clever financial tricks, some well placed stooges in government and let the good times roll.
If you coined the term "tug-of-war" today, I think everyone would assume it was some pretty rough kink shit and that's why society today is materially better than it was then.
