@jezebelley I happen to be the one who discovered the networking issue in Doom that took corporate and education networks down every day at 5ish local time when people started playing LAN mode in earnest. 💣

Aside from being father to my daughter and husband to my wife, it's perhaps my greatest claim to fame. 😂

One of the OG deluxified-by-default games, . Modern games make this seem not-so-fancy nowadays, but the graphics, cardboard and miniatures made this game feel like the start of a new generation of game production. Pretty good insert, albeit eclipsed by the fancy stuff these days.

When I was younger, I had a hard time with the concept of the set of real numbers and how there could be a subset of them that have decimals going on forever, never settling into repetition. I mean, if they go on forever, you can't see them all, so how do you know there isn't repetition if you looked far enough?

An excellent book on the nature of Turing machines explained it beautifully: Let's say a number x does repeat in its fraction part, such as x = .010101...
