I'm on track for three runs this week, and sometimes I get an itch to run in the afternoon. on my off days. Not compatible with my daily responsibilities, though.

Google Search has deteriorated so much that Microsoft Bing is now a strong competitor in the market.
Of course, people frame it differently: "DuckDuckGo just uses Bing Search results!" is what they say, but what they mean is "Bing results are competetive to Google Search results, and when displayed through DDG, the experience is at least on par."
@bmaxv I mean, I know why I haven't made some things in python. The whole venv desaster for example. Having to create individual environments for every script is just... ugh.
OTOH, I'm recreating a Java application in Python right now because reasons, and a lot of things just work so much nicer!
@bmaxv Hmm, interesting. I always thought it's a must because every time I want to install something via pip I get the "externally managed environment" error. And the package I try to install isn't part of my distribution (case in point: python3-okta).
There's a photography technique I use that I never see anyone else do so it's time I share it. I use it to capture action shots of people... typically dancing.
Most people would handle these situations by zooming in, spraying and praying, or being exceedingly patient for that ONE shot to materialize.
Those strategies were too unreliable for me so I learned to move with my subjects.
I pre-focus the lens for a set distance, wide-angle, full manual, and set the camera against my cheek. I move the camera only by moving my feet. If my subject twists, I twist. If they step toward me, I step back so they stay in focus.
Because I’m not using any viewfinder, my peripheral vision is good. You immerse yourself in the scene. When it feels right you shoot blind. With practice, your shots will line up.
You obviously will need good balance and confident footwork for this. I'm reaching back on years of Shaolin Kung Fu. If you've done dance or martial arts, you can get the hang of this.
@sysop408 This must be one of those "obvious once pointed out" techniques. I've been trying to get these kinds of shots done and now... I immediately want to try this out!

Vor 3 Jahren haben wir nach langem Ringen durchgesetzt, dass die Elterngruppen bei uns in Krippe und KiGa von WhatsApp auf Signal gewechselt sind.
Als K1 von der Krippe in den KiGa gewechselt sind, sind wir auch von der Krippen-Gruppe in die KiGa-gruppe gewechselt.
Jetzt wird wegen K2 die Krippengruppe wieder relevant.
Ich bin gerade per SMS in die WhatsApp-Gruppe der Krippe eingeladen worden.
Ich habe keinen Bock, die ganzen Diskussionen schon wieder zu führen.

Did I just run 5K under 36 minutes? Two independent running apps seem to think so!
Ran 5K in 35'55" with three recovery walks in between. Longer steps, maybe?
I just realised that I've been trying to run twice a week for a year now. Casually only, not managing every week, I've racked up 76 runs of 5km each (or at least a one hour workout at home), accumulating 376 km in total since April 1st 2023.
I know a lot of you do that on a bad month, but still I'm happy 😅
Gestern kamen wir aus dem Urlaub zurück und meine Frau konnte es kurzfristig einrichten, dass beide Kinder heute noch ihn kita und Hort gehen.
Damit bleibt von zwei Wochen Urlaub ein ganzer Tag Erholung für uns beide 😅
@Laird_Dave@fedieltern Ich beschwer mich nicht, die Woche in Garmisch war sehr schön. Die paar Tage danach bei meinen Eltern dafür recht anstrengend.
Und für mich als eigentlich introvertierten Menschen ist die ständige Beschallung sehr anstrengend. Dass meine Eltern beide quasi taub sind und der Fernseher auf Lautstärke 100 abends den Tatort ballert macht es da auch nicht besser :D
Heute bisschen entspannen bei angenehmer Lautlosigkeit und dann geht es morgen wieder 🙃

Auf Grund des Spielverhaltens beider Kinder überlegen wir gerade, aus dem Wohnzimmer ein großes Kinderzimmer zu machen, aus einem Kinderzimmer das Wohnzimmer zu machen und aus dem anderen Kinderzimmer ein richtiges Arbeitszimmer.
In ihren Kinderzimmern spielen die beiden eh nicht, und das Wohnzimmer strotzt vor Playmobil Spielzeug 😅🤯😅
