congratulations to the amazon email team, who manage to send HTML emails that don't (correctly) set their foreground/background colours... leading to an unreadable email when mail client is in dark mode. hint: if you define background:var(--body-bg)... it helps if those custom properties are also defined somewhere in the email's markup...

Sadly, few FullStack devs read classic literature, or they'd know that "Tailwind" was a 19th century euphemism for "a fart". Eg, in Jane Austen: "Miss Bennett, shall we take a turn around the garden? We’re in Rhodes and have been evacuated due to the wildfires.

We’re safe in a hotel which has been turned into a temporary refuge.

By all accounts, 30,000+ tourists and locals have been displaced in the last 24 hours and let me tell you, it’s been fucken scary.

We went from our hotel being turned into a refuge to jumping on the back of a dump truck in the middle of the night, to walking for hours in pitch black to finally getting picked up by a coach to take us to where we are now.
