To all who come here advocating war and bloodshed: please take a moment to consider alternatives that don't involve killing. If we cultivate compassion for each other, give up our stories, and learn to listen, we can find solutions that meet everyone's needs.

I find this to be a fascinating example of how culture can support through ritual and spirituality. The paper also supports the argument "that Indigenous peoples should be part of any conversation or debate on policy options around sustainability issues."

I’ve seen quite a few remarks lately that claim that any and all protests are worthy and one cannot ever criticize the form or fashion of a protest. That’s a bizarre and definitely wrong claim.

Really, nobody with an internet connection should need an example, but I can provide a few if necessary.

I appreciate that people are willing to engage with this topic, because it shows that we all care about peace and justice. Here's a helpful history that I think provides this important perspective that can help everyone stay focused on the goal of when constructing a social narrative:

"Resolution of such a long historical conflict is possible only if each side is [...] willing to approach [the other] as an equal."

The people who are opposed to US aid to are fools who don't know what they're talking about, and don't understand the totality of the situation. Their ignorance on the matter is putting the US in danger, and making a future armed conflict with more likely. Aid to Ukraine isn't just helping Ukraine. It's helping to ensure the safety and security of , and the rest of our partners.

@slcw the places in harm's way for the sake of maintaining the unipolar global dominance of US empire. competes for dominance by firing missiles at Ukrainian civilians, as conscripts from the lowest classes of Ukrainian and Russian society die in the trenches. There is no virtue held by either empire that is worth one more death. I want US citizens to demand the US government negotiate in good faith to end the bloodshed and bring the world a step back from nuclear war.

@supern0va additionally, FM radio still exists and there are lots of cool independent stations, depending on your location. Libraries are also excellent places to get media while supporting an essential community service.

Whether or are in 2025, what changes? The US will still be an "imperialist, white-supremacist, capitalist patriarchy" (bell hooks). The US will continue to support , to drum up war with , to invest in weapons and fossil fuels. Voting hasn't guaranteed , , , , , , , or for Americans. And the climate emergency continues. Seeing the US government veto this resolution, I mourn those who will lose their lives as a result. I believe a UN call for a ceasefire would be a step toward a more secure and future for everyone--including people living in the United States.
