It looks like #Israel is deliberately escalating the whole situation. I mean, striking Iranian targets (with a lot of Syrian 'collateral' damage) in #Damascus and #Aleppo is asking for escalation. It wouldn't surprise me if they do this as a distraction for their crimes in #Gaza, now that multiple Western allies hesitantly start asking questions.

#ClimateChange is fueling disasters, increasing concerns
"Experts say the #TexasWildfires highlighted the dangers natural disasters could pose to America's widespread #NuclearWeapons and energy networks. Eleven states are home to nuclear weapons, 28 to #NuclearPowerPlants and spent #NuclearFuel storage.
"In Texas, the fire's flames were spread by strong winds, dry conditions and unseasonably high temperatures, which broke records across the country — just the kind of conditions that experts have long warned are more likely as Earth warms.
"'We need more attention on the nexus of climate and nuclear,' said Kwong.
"Climate change effects have already caused nuclear concerns around the world: 'Places like #NorthKorea and #Pakistan are already facing these threats,' said Kwong.
"North Korea has experienced increases in #typhoons, #droughts and #flooding, according to the Royal United Services Institute, a United Kingdom-based defense think tank.

"A fast-moving wildfire burning through the Texas Panhandle grew into the second-largest blaze in state history Wednesday, forcing evacuations and triggering power outages as firefighters struggled to contain the widening flames.
"The sprawling blaze was part of a cluster of fires that burned out of control and threatened rural towns, where local officials spent the night shutting down roads and urging residents to leave their homes. The largest of the fires — which grew to nearly 800 square miles — jumped into parts of neighboring Oklahoma and remained completely uncontained as dawn broke, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
"Authorities have not said what ignited the fires, but strong winds, dry grass and unseasonably warm temperatures have fed the blazes. Near Borger, a community of about 13,000 people, emergency officials at one point late Tuesday answered questions from panicked residents during a Facebook livestream and told them to get ready to leave if they had not already."
Seeing the US government veto this #ceasefire resolution, I mourn those who will lose their lives as a result. I believe a UN call for a ceasefire would be a step toward a more secure and #sustainable future for everyone--including people living in the United States.
Perhaps you didn't notice this, but the US explained its reasons. Namely, a forced ceasefire would interfere with the ceasefire they're brokering to get the hostages freed.
