To help deal with the additional load on pixelfed.social, I made some config changes that will require you to login (on web) again, my apologies!

I'll be closely monitoring the server and in case I need to take more drastic action.

    @evan @pixelfed It's interesting you ask because I'm actually working on this for pixelfed.com

    Basically it would be a virtual multi tenant app but hosted on the same server and database, just abstracting the tenancy part to the virtual domains/subdomains.

    I'm doing this because I want to allow people to use their own domains for their pixelfed.com account!

    I really appreciate all the kind words of support, sometimes it feels like I only see negative feedback and while I usually take that in good stride and strive to resolve the underlying issues...

    I am only human, and sometimes that negative feedback stings more than usual

    Rather than letting it get to my head, publicly acknowledging this, and my struggles, are my therapy

    I had a pretty rough day and contemplated just giving up on @pixelfed because it seems like I can’t catch a break

    But after calming down, I started to remember all the big milestones and the people who believe in our platform and in me

    I’m not ready to give up, in fact this was the kick in the ass I needed to get my priorities straight and focus on shipping the app ASAP and also Groups

    I’m a few months behind on my NLnet Groups milestone and need the money so that’s my focus after the app

    I've been working hard on the @pixelfed mobile app and will be sharing a pre-release APK before I head to bed!

    I can't emphasize how better it is, and it will only improve over the summer 😎

    We're going to submit the app to the App Store/Play Store this weekend, and I'm so excited ✨

    It sucks to see users flock to another platform and not Pixelfed because the lack of official apps in the app stores.

    @thisismissem @pixelfed you could argue the same about Mastodon adding post scheduling apis.

    The people who would use Later are not the same people who would use Buffer or other CRM providers, our target demographic for Later is regular people, not companies

    @thisismissem @pixelfed Later is its own microservice that goes beyond just scheduling a post, it has teams and ACL, kanban/list board for planning and versioned drafts with shareable previews.

    It’s built specifically for Pixelfed, but will work with MastoApi projects too

    The new @pixelfed app is the 4th major rewrite, and I'm glad I waited, because the latest (open source) version is faster, prettier, and more native!

    First impressions are everything, so I'm going to get it done right with pixel precision 💅

    Sup, Loops and Later are separate apps for a reason, they will eventually be integrated but will remain independent apps/services

    I'm building all these services tightly integrated because that simplicity is how you grow and build on the network effect

    Experimenting with a "Made with AI" badge for servers that allow AI generated content if properly labelled.

    Block Suggest, a new feature coming to Pixelfed that allows you to suggest to mutual followers to block a specific account when you block them.

    Imagine a Mute, Block and Block & Suggest Button

    The recipients will get a special notification that explains the suggested you block them with optional context and on the web ui and official app, you will be able to block or ignore with one tap!

    So I’m working on a kind of PDS or relay for Pixelfed servers to discover trending content and help fill new instance timelines and profile suggestions!

    It will be based on content from and discovered by pixelfed.social, however I’ll be open sourcing the PDS (Pixelfed Discovery Server) so you can run your own for yourself or others

    It will be easy and intuitive, I hope to add more features to it later on, lots of potential ✨

    So I spent longer than expected working on the privacy settings in the new @pixelfed app

    I don't regret it, we have some pretty awesome privacy features!

    Looking forward to shipping the new mobile app, and working with artists, creatives and photogs to make our platform better for everyone.

    @eco_amandine @pixelfed yes, that is possible via the post menu on the feed (in the new app), so you won’t have to lose your feed position and any posts by that account will be filtered!

    We’re also working on a Block & Suggest feature that allows you to easily suggest to friend accounts to block that account with an optional note and the ability to share the context (post, comment, profile) of where you blocked them. It’s limited to Pixelfed, Wdyt? Would you find this useful?
