Does anyone know good audiobooks of anarchistic literature? Preferrably for free as a stream or download. Was looking for Rudolf Rocker but any fundamental literature would suffice.

I have a lot of time to listen to podcasts and little time to read currently but want to dive more into anarchist theory.

Liebes Fediverse,

kennt jemand gute Hörbücher anarchistischer Literatur? Am liebsten gratis zum streamen/herunterladen, gern Grundlagentexte, konkret habe ich nach Rudolf Rocker gesucht, aber was anderes wäre auch fein.

Habe mit Baby gerade viel Zeit zum Podcasts und Hörbücher hören und wenig Zeit zum Lesen. Würde aber gern mehr in Linke/Anarchistische Theorie einsteigen.

So today I discovered Wizard Zines by @b0rk - a person I appaerantly have been following on fedi for a while without realizing what amazing content they create!

The concept is short comic magazines (zines) on topics around coding and working in tech that you can read as pdf or print out yourself. There is a colection of free ones and others you can get for a reasonable price (with a discount if you live somewhere with a weaker currency than US dollars iirc)

You could do

:command! -bang MyCmd call MyFn(!empty("<bang>"))

but it's way more cursed to do

:command! -bang MyCmd call MyFn(<bang>0)

@phranck haha ich bin gespannt wie ich das sehe, wenn unsere (7m) mal ein teenie ist - noch vor nem guten halben Jahr habe ich selbst gern mal bis Mittag geschlafen, jetzt ist bis 7 schlafen schon ein krasses Event 😅

.. also doch, eigentlich sagt einem das jeder aber keine Worte der Welt können das jemandem ohne Kind begreifbar machen - und um ihre Glaubwürdigkeit weiter zu untergraben bekommen die Leute ja auch noch mehr als ein Kind 😁

Shoutout to a great foss app I used for the first time today: Parabolic! It is a beautiful and simple video downloader for youtube developed for linux with the gnome desktop in mind. Used it to download my lectures and while it's interface is clean and minimalistic it is actually quite powerful, giving me all the options I need to bulk download videos!

Also shoutout to the GNOME Files bulk renaming UI! I wanted multiple file names to start with the same text so I just selected them all and hit F2, not really expecting anything to happen. You can imagine my surprise, when a pretty powerful and easy to use dialogue popped up and just allowed me to do exactly what I wanted. The Gnome apps are really coming along greatly!

Took me about three minutes to find the website of most (an alternative to the Unix less tool).

Give your projects names that can be found using a web search, will ya? Even if it's less (ha!) funny that way.

#Nokia #N900 update: It works, but it's slow. Any UI like #Xfce or #MATE is just too much for the little 600 MHz CPU.

So I'm going to make myself comfortable with a terminal environment. Or rather: I will MAKE myself a terminal environment, because unfortunately there is no good preconfigured terminal "desktop" that just works. I'm going to have to edit a lot of config files...

I wish there was some kind of vintage desktop I could use like... I don't know, #KDE 1? Surely that worked with 256 MB of RAM back then. 🤔

What happened to the cool light variant of this wallpaper in ? I kinda liked it a lot, the updated one doesn't match the style of the dark wallpaper for me and I just don't like it that much. Can I get the previous version back somewhere?

Screenshot of the new light variant of said wallpaper. The colors aren't red, blue and gray anymore as they were with the old light variant but instead light blue-ish-purple. Also the overall shape of the transition of the colors doesn't match between the dark and light variant anymore.

@danirabbit wow, I'm sorry but most women I know have a terrible handwriting, just as I do - we're all typing most text we produce these days and are collectively getting worse at handwriting. This is just how things are and definetly not a gender thing for ducks sake.

This week, we have Plasma 6's release date (I'll spoil the video: it's in 5 months), we have the new App Center, which seems to still not allow users to install anything other than snaps (let's hope this changes), and we have 45 breaking all extensions (yes, for real this time).

@thelinuxEXP Hey Nick, I kind of dislike the sensational headline of "gnome will break all extensions" - I've read it a lot lately and it sounds like gnome is doing something stupid.

The truth is that they are finally adhering to a javascript standard that is out since 2015. Finally imports will look like they do everywhere else which will make it easier to onboard new gnome-shell contributors and lower the bar of entry to developing extensions.

@thelinuxEXP This does mean that all extensions will need some minor code changes - but for most small extensions that is only a couple lines of code. This is only tedious for bigger extensions with a lot of module imports.

okay @tinsuke is the hero of the day: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-android/pull/680 adds a setting which lets you choose that "load missing posts" loads the oldest posts (upwards) instead of the newest posts (downwards)!!
