Just an FYI, the current non-GPlay version of Medito is broken. I've been using Bodhi Timer for years, though, and can recommend it as a basic mediation timer.

I created something perfect on accident yesterday, and I cannot show any of you.

Not because it is a secret or anything, just because I can't record it without it turning into total garbage.

It is beautiful and perfect I want to make a whole game out of it and also Gnome's screen recording thing just completely shits itself when I try to record it, so you'll just have to pretend you understand just how good this all is.

    I can riff off that.

    In this telling, Marty's on the tail end of Gen Z, and they'd gender flip the character.

    To callback to the original, she's a fan of 50s fashion and wears one of the outfits Lorraine did.

    Her "I've seen this one!" moment is an episode of Friends, but the real echo of that scene is the family getting their first computer.

    The school dance song is by Billie Eilish.

    The time machine is a Cybertruck, and has trouble starting because it got wet.

    We ditch the "you're going to disappear" thread because it wouldn't have the same emotional weight. Something else will push her home.

    She starts out happy to be in a simpler, more hopeful time and wants to stay, but she comes to realize she's going to have to watch this happier time get ruined by all the problems of the modern age. The catalyst for this realization is her getting involved in a local political activist group, then realizing how little power they actually have.

    When she decides to return home, the Cybertruck's batteries need replaced, so she has to seek out Doc. He can't afford the Li-Ions that just hit the market recently, so he uses a capacitor bank and we keep the lightning scene.

    I'm not sure what arc to give her folks. The incest thing would be creepier than it already was, but it seems like it was useful to get the audience to feel as out of place as Marty?

    Maybe her dad is a proto-incel? He doesn't creep on her, but he is a creep.

    I was going to take a peek at reverse engineering a cheap BLE sensor I nabbed, but it seems like recent versions of Android truncate the (G)ATT packets in btsnooz_hci.log. I'm gonna go ahead and guess Google's just kicked us in the shins for no reason and there's no way to reverse that?

    It appears the copy of Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End I purchased at a thrift store the other day is NOT the standard Disney version. 🤔

    I'm curious if this is an authorized dub or not, I now realize the cover looks like it's color copied... and the video quality looks like it was filmed off a movie screen from the back seat of a theater.

    I’m a 50+ white male.

    How many old white guys out there would be willing join a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to oppose old white guys in positions of power? How many people would be willing to provide financial support for the same?

    Nothing like this currently exists in the U.S. and I think it could be a damn effective form of protest. Personally, I’m sick and tired of seeing old fucking white guys in power everywhere I turn. Am I an aberration?

    Oh, and despite thinking of myself as a bit of wordsmith, I’m admittedly terrible at acronym generation. What’s a good name for an organization pursuing said mission?

    To stay true to the cause, have it in the charter that all higher management be BIPOC. Public events could sandwich diverse speakers between white bread doing the "This next speaker is good people. Listen to them." thing. (Has anyone done Hawaiian shirts in Pride flag colors?)

    You could take that entire slice of shared identity & Americana and use it to model/normalize equity. 2/2

    Aren't there quite a lot of currently-successful opposition movements happening? Anti-abortion, anti-LGBT+, anti-immigrant, etc? The left has historically been bad at capturing & utilizing the same sort of outrage. If you'd like a more positive spin, maybe there's a space for something like DADBOD: Dad-bods Against Dickheads, Bigots, Or Demagogues

    Have grilling events, lawnmower races, handyman fix-ins. Public uniform is Hawaiian shirts & cargo shorts. 1/2

    Me, reporting bugs to small devs vs giant devs:
    "I love your app! But when I click on "share" links, it sends folks to the Apple App store, even if the user is on Android. This might be sending a lot of users to the wrong place. Browser detection before routing would help!
