Best idea I’ve heard on what should do next: declare neutrality, foreswear joining NATO, and when inevitably withdraws aid, turn to European community for support. Heard it this morning on Al Jazeera’s Up Front.

@micchiato I don’t disagree about Western Ukrainians, but that doesn’t mean won’t try. Just look at what happened in those areas when they were taken by the USSR in 1939. And you seem to be giving up on Eastern Ukraine. Putin has no right to ANY of Ukraine, regardless of who is and isn’t in NATO (which is a defensive alliance, and wouldn’t be growing if countries didn’t feel threatened by in the first place).

I don't like getting political. It's just hard not to when my literal identity (just being Israeli Jewish) becomes a source of worldwide discussion and topic of hate and polarization. I don't want this.

@skaly You’re never going to be able to avoid “getting political” as long as you continue to identify that way. I’m American, and both USA and Israel are colonial settler states, and we need to not look away from that. It’s easier to be American, in that much of our conquering and genocide of native populations are (largely) outside living history, but Israel doesn’t have that luxury. There aren’t a ton of folks left who remember the 1950s, but their children are still around.

@skaly All the colonial settler states have to address this; USA, Canada, Australia, S. Africa, etc. Whatever claims we thought we had to the land, we came in and took it away from the people who lived there and then did horrible things to them. Israel is somewhat unique, but at the end of the day they are the successor of British Palestine, a white colonial settler state. And settlements continue to this day! It’s like being trans; your identity is politicized no matter what.

@skaly for your number 2, what you’re saying is…. not accurate. Under the Ottoman Empire, Jews comprised like 3%-5% of the population of Palestine. After WWI the Otroman Empire was dismantled and the British ended up with Palestine, even though they promised it to the Arabs, which is the beginning of the white colonialism. The Jewish population rose to about 11% in 1922, and by 1945 around 31% (source: censuses from British Palestine).

@skaly The League of Nations and the UN were supportive of the creation of a “Jewish State” and encouraged large waves of immigrants from Europe in particular. They then handed over control to the local Zionist leaders in 1948.

So maybe you can see how the state of Israel came directly from the British Mandate, supported by the UN, which included large numbers of Europeans coming over and taking control of land in which they were a previously a minority.

Since the beginning of the SMO in Ukraine, talking heads in the west have given the same regurgitated reasons for why Russia is the greatest threat Europe or even the world has ever known. About how Russia will leap-frog it's way from nation to nation if they are not stopped and Putin removed from power.

They however will not tell you of warnings in the late 90s by Russia, that a military alliance such as NATO is fine so long as it does not encroach it's way onto Russian borders. One only need to look at a map of NATO in it's infancy compared to now to understand the weed that is NATO and how it has not only expanded but done the very thing it promised Russia it would not do, expand upon Russian borders.

Russia had worked with Zelensky and Ukraine on a peace deal that was settled and ready to implement but in April of 2022 Boris Johnson arrived in Kiev at the behest of America and convinced Zelensky to tear up the peace agreement with Russia.

Russia knew NATO would not stop when it promised Ukraine a path to membership. Russia also knew that the people of the Donbass who cried out to Russia for help because Ukraine was killing them no hope if not for Russian intervention. It was then that not Putin alone but the entire Federation of Russian Assembly voted to begin the SMO in Ukraine and thus you have the actual truth for why Russia is in Ukraine.

But this alone is not the only reason western leaders hate Russia. You see Russia used to be accepted by the west. Durring the times after the fall of the Soviet Union and what the Russians remember as, "the terrible 90s," Russia was very much liked by the west. Of course this is when Russian oligarchs completely sold out Russia. The land was being picked dry and drained of wealth and resources. The economy a skeleton and the people and culture in decline.

This is until someone stepped from the shadows of obscurity and said enough. That someone was Vladimir Putin. Many, many years of hard work and scraping themselves up from near ruin now sees Russia thriving on every front but this also is STILL not the truth as to why Russia is hated by western leaders.

You see, the western globalists controlled by the World Economic Forum and World Health Organization types have a plan, a vision for the world and stubborn Russia refuses to bend the knee as America, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Australia the UK and others have. Putin realized that in order to be apart of the club would mean to sacrifice Russia on the alter of globalism. After seeing exactly what that agenda was Putin said no, and walked away to stand with his people.

There are some requirements in order to be apart of the globalist club of countries. You must sacrifice health-care, national identity, sovereignty, open your borders, remove religion, free speech, self defense, gender and family. You must embrace degeneracy, LGBTQ ideology, climate change agenda and place total control of all things into the government run out of Davos Switzerland.

Putin and Russia said no, we will remain Russia, we will keep our pride, our culture, protect our kids, our families our borders and reject the insanity we increasingly see from the west and globalists. The truth is that the west cannot force Russia to bend the knee because Russia has the strongest military on earth. Add to this the rise of BRICS which seeks to replace western hegemony economically across the world and we now see a much clearer picture as to the true motives of the west when they paint Russia as the great evil.

Words, politics and noise aside, this is the truth of it all. The only thing Russia is guilty of is being a wall in-between the western globalists and their agenda for world domination.
