One common 101-level financial literacy comment is that "your house is not an asset". (I mean, technically wrong because it's an asset, a liability, and a source of costs but we get the point.) In all new product scope is like this - scope is a liability, guaranteed, while it's not certain if there's any asset in anything you keep adding.

Is it just me, or has Microsoft gone completely crazy? They are implementing spyware that takes screenshots every second and forcing AI integration. Why would anyone willingly purchase this? Anyone with experience in computer or information security knows that it is a bad idea, even if it is locally done. Just don't do it. Yet, here we are, and they are doubling down on this idea. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/05/microsofts-new-recall-feature-will-record-everything-you-do-on-your-pc/

One of my most controversial takes over the years has been regarding creators upset about the term "content" being applied to their art.

I'm just taking a moment to re-up the idea that art and content are not mutually exclusive concepts. Not all content is art, and not all art is content.

But there's an easy way to determine whether something is or isn't "content." Just ask one simple yes-or-no question:

Was the work produced under contract at the behest of a content distribution company? If yes, then it's content, no matter how artistic it is.

@nyquildotorg arguably the Sistene Chapel ceiling is content

This is going to affect so many elderly and innocent people. OpenAI is developing these tools again from publicly scrapping of your voice samples.
