This is an interesting chart and show how abysmally low the healthcare spending in is. Compare it with an equally populous state like and one can clearly see how the political systems and ideology impacts the spending.

This is also a classic example of how process shortcuts and circumvention of procedures to keep the profitability up does to an industry where safety is the most important criteria.

Boeing clearly lost their focus on passenger safety in lieu of profits and that is what have put them in this situation.

Some of these industries need to be more regulated and should be measured beyond the quarter to quarter numbers.

As is gearing towards the general elections, all ways to create divide across the society is being attempted. Businesses are playing their part as subjugates of the ruling regime.

Contrary to the majority vegetarian argument, India has more than 70% of its population eating meat and this is just another way to create the 'othering' among people.

From today's reasearch results indicate majority of supporting authoritarian regime.
While these kind of survey results need to be taken with a pich of salt, this also show that Indians are conditioned to belive the current majoritarian regime is a good form of government.

This also shows a clear stratification on the lines of economic/social stutus of a society, in their perception of what is good governance for them!

ie. passengers have to shell out double price for travelling the same trains with same facilities.

Govt. of and are making rail travel more costly, which is the mode of transport for common people.

    Just a heads-up to all fellow @signalapp users: there is a high chance that the messages you send or the messages others send to you don't get delivered. Previously it was an issue with iOS recipients, but now it also is happening to Android users. When you open the Signal app you will see multiple notifications but their sent time is from minutes or an hour ago (depends on how frequently you open the app). If you have an important message, don't reply on Signal.

    This has bcome an occasional problem of late. While I haven't had days of delay, have seen certainly hours of delay. Even this morning a message was delivered to me an hour after it was sent. I do think flaky mobile networks are possibly one reason.
    However @signalapp I suggest you folks look at this seriously and improve the message delivery over not very reliable network connections on priority.

    An article worth a read. Clearly shows how Indian Railways has and is becoming less affordable for common passengers.
    While a large number people in are becoming poorer, they are having to pay high cost for basic now.

    @Deus yes, with the dynamic pricing during the vacation seasons it has become horrible. But beyond that, this issue of adding more ac coaches and reducing the sleeper/2nd class and unreserved coaches is hugely discriminating against the common travellers.

    My Gujju friend shared this automated maker (for home use) some years ago. I wonder why they never caught on. Maintenance? Loud noise? Super expensive? Taste isn’t close to the real one? As they say, ‘wait till the end’.

    It's that season again. 's air pollution saga is back. In spite of the fact that this is a known recurring phenomenon during winter, nothing has been done.

    tackled this problem meticulously and is considered as a model for others.

    2. govt decided to frame a case against writer and activist Arundhari Roy, for a speech she gave in 2010 (13 years ago!)

    3. officials who wrote report and exposed serious irregularities in a couple of union govt. projects were transferred.
