@rossgrady Back in my "temporarily dropped out of uni" gap years, I worked for a firm that processed documentary evidence for trials, primarily environmental class action suits.

And let me tell you, however bad we think these companies knowingly are, it's worse, because they've been horrific since the beginning and they have been so much less regulated since Reagan.

When something comes out about something being horrific, I always presume they've known since the start and are concealing it, because that's what the reams of evidence in those trials showed, for sure, going back decades and decades.

Is someone working on a global low/no-covid specific dating app?

Because if god willing there is ever a world where it's safe for me to leave the house again, I would really like to meet people who are:

  • systems thinkers
  • in solidarity with those who have less economic power
  • fighting eugenics and ableism
  • able to resist peer pressure
  • resolved in their convictions
  • thinking for the long term

Truly, I can think of nothing sexier and I mean that with my whole heart.

I know for a fact that the doc who has done my pre- and post-op ultrasounds is THE person my clinic sends patients to surrounding this surgery.

Her bedside manner needs WORK, people. I don't mind her being curious, but this is the second time she has told me, AS IF I CANNOT IMAGINE IT, the story of the patient who was too fat to do sports pre-op.

Like, LADY. I am sitting right here, and while you can't fathom being in that state and taking such a drastic step, the rest of us sure as fuck can.

I'm lying there, 77 pounds lighter than 12 weeks ago as she is rolling around the sensor over my scars from said surgery, and she is 'splaining to me why someone would get this surgery.

I shrugged and told her it was quite challenging and that it wasn't an easy way out.

And it's not. I just stopped at the vegetarian place to get a small bowl of digestible protein and complex carbs because I had to go there on an empty stomach and I was shaking. I have to take 30 minutes to go through this food, and I have already almost barfed once and was in pain for several minutes when I realized something wasn't agreeing with new stomach.

This can happen ANY time. It will get somewhat better, but... it will never be easy
