    I know about the atrocities of the Iraq war, infact, thats exactly what I meant by "they probably would". You see, my main point was, just because America would commit crimes against humanity and genocide, does not mean Israel doing it is okay. So, OpenDNA, do you have an issue with that? I can't see why anyone would.
    I'm not running defence for the US, and I think you're feigning ignorance for that to make an argument. In fact, I actually think (get this) massacring civilians is bad. I also think (real shocker) its bad when Hamas did it too.

    Me personally, I think 4 million dying is bad. And I think around 30-40,000 people dying within the last two months (more than all civilian deaths in the Ukraine war) is pretty bad. Do you agree? I hope you do. Or else, we really can't change eachother's minds, because you'd be a little evil.

    @PalestineNews Yeah, though even if a majority of Israelis truly did have their heritage in Palestine, it would not justify a genocide and forceful occupation.
    Also the thing they always ignore, is Palestinians are also indigenous to Palestine. Arabs as an ethnolinguistic group are diverse. Just because some Palestinians are Bedouin colonisers from the Caliphate doesn't negate the fact that many are native to that land. Doesn't stop pseudo historians lying about it though.

    @blepharon @peterrelph2 Gah, I've had people tell me I'm a sinner going to hell because scripture tells them so. The scripture written by some random bloke few millennia ago. Can't they think for themself? It's 2023, tell me what's wrong with same sex attraction, right. I know there are good Christians but they're more Christian in the true sense, followers of Christ, rather than followers of the bible. Which is better, I guess, Jesus was a pretty cool guy.

    Is it too much to ask for jewish lives - children to grandparents - to be valued? Where are the calls for Hamas to stop bombing Israel? And to release the civilian hostages? Why is the ceasefire asked of Israel alone? Why in 2023 do Jews have to fight to be seen & valued? I believe all human lives are sacred & I cry for each life taken. There is a dearth of balance here that I am calling out. I’m heartbroken that many of my fellow progressives have abandoned us.

    @rabbijill I condemn Israel because its an illegitimate apartheid settler state, I've done it long before the current war kicked off. Hamas is condemned, that's a no brainer. The reason people condemn Israel more loudly is because of the lack of condemnation present in the media cycle.
    Not many people truly support Hamas. I dont. Theyre Jihadists who'd stone me to death given the chance.

    @rabbijill I think it should be shared too. I think a "two state solution" is silly because its establishing two ethnostates, and neither side will be happy with the outcome. The problem is neither side seems happy with sharing. It's a really sad situation.

    @ai6yr @davidho The idea that work is required for a happy life seems a bit like capitalist propaganda. There's nothing inherently wrong with the idea of no work, as long as something is doing what's needed done.

    Capitalism needs consumers to consume, and without them it would fail, so really if there was no work there would still be a job (consumption).
