I've seen a lot of articles about how many games are on Steam now, and how this presents a massive visibility challenge, buuuut

How about this view instead?

This excludes the games that have limited profile features. That is, this excludes the games that essentially no one saw/bought.

(it really doesn't take much push to clear the limited profile features)

@glassbottommeg Is limited profile features just cleared by having 10 reviews? Or is there more to it?

I never noticed it but I'm guessing my second game had it for a long time. It only scraped together 9 reviews in it's first 1.5 years, before suddenly and unexpectedly becoming a hit in China. It's got 130 reviews now and no limited tag.

New rule! I've seen a bunch of games not letting you change difficulty mode if you play on Hard.

I don't think this is super great, bc generally I like playing games on Hard but boss fights on Normal. Well depends on the game.

Why not, instead, having a "lock difficulty" option when you start a new game? If you enable it, you're not able to change difficulty mid-game.

That way, people can decide for themselves if they want to remove the temptation of changing difficulty.

@Nifflas yeah I started playing RE4 remake on the Hard difficulty and soon realized it was just too dang annoying. But switching to Normal would've meant starting over from scratch, so I just forged on, played through the whole game on Hard, and had a miserable time. :|

Finally playing The Last Guardian. Though I love Ico, and Shadow of the Colossus, and see how this game has many fantastic aspects, all I can think is "should I wait for a remaster without this input lag?"

Maybe I'll put the game on hold.

@Nifflas if you're playing on PS4, yeah it does run significantly better on PS5. But if by "input lag" you mean the weighty way the character moves, well, I'm pretty sure that's intentional and won't be changed by a remaster.

I'm starting to think I only like the Final Fantasy games everyone else hates.

FFXV was fantastic, whereas I think I'm ditching FF7 Re around the 13 hour mark.

Honestly there's probably something to that. FF fans are who praise/pick the "good" FF games, so if I'm not one of them, it makes sense I'd like the opposite ones more.

@glassbottommeg Yeah I got bored and gave up on FF7Re in the haunted trainyard. Was that around 13h in? Can't remember.

(not a FF fan tho. Only finished FFXV and dabbled in some of the others.)
