For model calibration (esp via logistic regression), does anyone know of a statistical investigation of the properties of the resulting calibrated predictions?

IOW, if we use predictions from one model as inputs to another model, do we know the probability distribution of the final predictions?

What happens when you mandate masks at a conference now that most people no longer wear them but medically vulnerable people are still at risk because ? In the case of , the conference sells out.

Why a masking policy? “Many of us and our fellow community members can’t attend without health and safety guidelines in place. We want PyCon US to be an event that everyone feels safe attending,” organizers explained.

Stack Overflow announced that they are partnering with OpenAI, so I tried to delete my highest-rated answers.

Stack Overflow does not let you delete questions that have accepted answers and many upvotes because it would remove knowledge from the community.

So instead I changed my highest-rated answers to a protest message.

Within an hour mods had changed the questions back and suspended my account for 7 days.

Diff view of a stack overflow question showing it being changed from the original text to a protest message, then being changed back again by a mod. Protest text reads: Why does OpenAI get to profit from our work? I have removed this question in protest of Stack Overflow's decision to partner with OpenAI. This move steals the labour of everyone who contributed to Stack Overflow with no way to opt-out. OpenAI has a history of flooding the web with inaccurate information and have explicitly stated that they will never pay creators for their work.

Since the tidymodels team sent out a bunch of package releases a few weeks ago, we've mostly shared about the two major features that those releases implemented: fairness assessment and survival analysis. There are all sorts of other goodies in those releases, though; this post on the tidyverse blog highlights a few from tune 1.2.0.

🆕 Spannendes Interview!

We’re so excited to announce the support of survival analysis for time-to-event data across tidymodels!

• The tidymodels framework is a collection of R packages for modeling and machine learning using tidyverse principles.
• Survival analysis is now a first-class citizen in tidymodels, giving censored regression modeling the same flexibility and ease as classification or regression.
