The criticism of Ice Cube coming from many white folk, vs Black folk, is different in important ways.

When Biden stresses "Bipartisanship" and says that he will work with people from both parties to get things done for the American people, he's praised. If I criticize his centrism, y'all yell at me.🤷🏿‍♂️

When Ice Cube says we don't know who's going to win the election: if it's Dems I'll work with them, if it's GOP I'll work with them, to get things done for Black people...y'all call him a fool.🤡

@mekkaokereke NWA is where I learned about police brutality towards black people... To say I trust his intent for improving conditions for black people is an understatement

my only hope is that, given Ice Cube isnt a politician, he has support for avoiding the relentless traps the GOP will inevitably attempt

It's 2023, and there's a US election in 2024 that will determine the future of climate change, war in Ukraine, the global economy, reproductive rights, and global fascism.

And folks still want to talk about Cambridge Analytica in 2015, instead of stuff like this:

  • Climate change
  • Reproductive rights

    OSS etiquette: I've forked a Python package repo so that it's significantly different (> 50% changed), and the upstream repo isn't taking PRs anyway. For my new Pypi package, do I list only myself as an author, or also the original author? (Is authors more about credit or more about who is maintaining?)

    i am pretty sure Pydantic began as a fork of one of my projects, Schematics, and I see the similarity in the code, but I am not credited anywhere.

    i dont mind tho because I stopped working on Schematics and was glad to see other folks push things forward with all the pride and joy of believing they own the whole thing.

    if they arent accepting PRs, or the project seems dead, I'd say you dont need to credit them

    @bitprophet I have dealt with insomnia for most of my life too. I recently found something that works for me. Would be happy to share some details over DM if you're curious. Specifically, it helps me fall asleep, but more importantly, it helps me stay asleep.

    As a general rule, coups either coopt major parts of state force to either join in or sit out the conflict in the first few hours or fail quickly, as everyone defaults back to the mean of the status quo ante of state retaining control.

    Prigozhin's coup attempt so far has failed to get any declared or ambiguous support, and MOD, FSB, GRU, Rosgvardia, and State media sided with Putin

    So for folks thinking this coup will be successful, the chances are very, very strongly against that from here
