@davidpierce We're pretty psyched about the Apple Vision Pro launch. Over the last couple of weeks, we've created a visionOS version of our app @focus and are looking forward to running it on the device. We're equally excited to try some other great apps on this platform.
Anyone else made an InAppEvent for the #AppleVisionPro launch?
Can't get mine approved, because of rule 2.3, quote: "referencing a pre-release version of Apple hardware".
The event only launches when the devices is out, so by that time, its not a pre-release Apple hardware 🫣
Not even mentioning the product itself anymore, but "Spatial Computing". But that seems to be enough...
@klemensstrasser I assume it’s the same for everybody as there are no Apple Vision Pro In-app events in the App Store yet. Was handled differently with the iOS 17 launch.
@klemensstrasser that’s great to hear! What helped? I tried to make the case that we‘re releasing the in-app event on launch day - so it will no longer be pre-release - but it got still rejected.

@czottmann My @focus app comes with two interactive #Pomodoro StandBy widgets - a minimalistic one and one that shows the active task as well as the timer and controls.
As the widget system in iOS has been so frustratingly unreliable to develop for in the past, I've invested as little as possible in it up to now. I went into iOS 17's interactive widgets with deep skepticism. But in seeing what other developers are doing, and what interactive widgets enable, I might be starting to come around. I'm certainly open to expanding the widgets in my apps, where makes sense, if that's what customers start telling me they want
@craiggrannell@stroughtonsmith I’ve needed to restart my phone on several occasions to get the widgets to display in the picker. This happened with current iOS 17 release version this morning as well. 🫤
Mrs G just got a ‘battery is basically fucked’ response from her Series 5, which no longer gets through the day if she goes for a short swim. So four years of life. Not the worst. 95 quid to get it replaced, though, by the looks of it. And that means having to go to Basingstoke as well, which no-one should be forced to have to do. Tsk.
@craiggrannell exactly the same happened to me two weeks ago - and I needed my watch for debugging our apps for watchOS10.
I sent it in to get the battery replaced for 99euros and ended up with a brand new watch 😊
Threads is the most fun, most interesting new product of the year, and no one in the E.U. can use it, or will be able to use it anytime soon, because their own elected officials passed a law that effectively bans it.
@gruber it’s not all about having fun, it’s also about having some rules & privacy.
I prefer the European way of things and am very happy about our EU legislator’s job in this regard.

I was incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to try Vision Pro this week. The experience was overwhelming in the best possible way. I'm still collecting my thoughts for a longer Design Diary post, but it was so transformative that I'm finding it hard to put the experience into words.
As I work on that, I wanted to ask for any questions folks had with regards to using it and more generally for the platform from a developer/designer perspective. I'll do my best to answer to them.
When you have a timer running in watchOS 10 there is now a quick jump indicator that appears at the top of the clock face! (same for Alarms and Stopwatches)
No more need to have a timer complication just for when a timer is running. I love it!
