Still looking for my "forever Linux laptop." The one I'll put ALL my stickers on.

At one point I thought it would be the @system76 Oryx Pro but 17-inchers are big and & power hungry.

Then I wanted it to be my Apple M1, but app compatibility (ARM) has me a little concerned.

I need all day battery life, great display, MODEST dedicated GPU or strong integrated GPU.

Should I just do what everyone else has been doing and buy a ? The T-14 looks pretty sweet.

Audon is a great real-time audio streaming service for the ! Think Spaces or Clubhouse, and you pretty much got it. You create a room for audio, where other people can listen to you, or just give them the role of speaker as well.

You can easily log in with your fediverse (Mastodon/Calckey/Pleroma) account, create a room, share the link, and you're ready to go!

Hi @kde, I love almost all things , but please reconsider the development and inclusion of PlasmaTube in the KDE gear applications.

Regardless of your stance on , PlasmaTube is not dissimilar to outright stealing content. Invidious robs the producer of views, revenue, and engagement.

MANY of those content creators are producing FOSS and Linux content.

It's not a good look. And it's not something you should stand for.

@Bro666 @kde 1: it’s not my platform of choice. You’re putting words into my mouth.

2: When you consume content by willingly bypassing its original form of intended payment or price (in this case, viewing ads), is that not stealing?

Sometimes what’s even worse is that the content creator doesn’t even get a view credited to them. Views and engagement are important for them.

As always, great insights on the state of gaming & from someone who's been covering it for 14 years.

I'd love to hear someone devote an entire podcast episode to this topic: Does have TOO much of a stake in Linux gaming? What happens if they stop investing effort into it?

On one hand, I love his impassioned "we need ALL the money to spread desktop Linux to EVERYONE" suggestion

But he seems to utterly miss a core point

People will only give money if they can MAKE money from the investment

@sysrich @linuxappsummit Call me a hopeless idealist, but I reject that idea.

On some level, I want to believe that organizations integral to the Linux distro eocsystem -- and especially the Linux app ecosystem -- would invest money in order to gain more users.

There is a LOT to be gained here, and a larger userbase cannot and will not happen based solely on goodwill and happy vibes. Money is required.

When you see Starbucks in Czechia just keep walking. There’s probably an amazing local cafe around the corner….

Like Coffee Fusion! I had a delicious Aeropress there while prepping for some  stuff. It was so fresh and the sweetness in the beans really popped. I didn’t even add sugar!

Highly recommended for your fix.

@sesivany It FEELS that way. I can't tell WHY it feels that way, but I rarely feel relaxed in new, foreign cities. Brno is an exception.

@muzzug Coffee Fusion is incredible! I was so impressed with the Aeropress (so delicious and naturally sweet that no sugar was needed) that I also ordered a mocha. An incredible recommendation.

For almost 4 decades I have been obsessed with . I air drummed all over everything. I spent a good 8 years playing the crap out of Rock Band's Pro/Expert drum mode and destroying at least 3 of those fake plastic toys. But it DID teach me some fundamentals...

Today, at 47 years old, I finally have the real thing. (Sure, they're digital drums, but you get my meaning.)

This is my drum kit. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

(Yes, area rug is incoming...)
