just discovered that the @w3c wiki has a record of my participation in "the fediverse" from as far back as 2006! From back when I added FOAF to my blog!
@nilesh yeah there are many projects that have implemented parts of this. But the issue is that you each part of the fediverse does account auth differently, cause that part is not part of ActivityPub. @dansup built a login with Mastodon feature into @pixelfed recently.
βThe cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida recently approved landmark legislation aimed at preventing the largest online platforms from using their dominance in mobile software to thwart the entry of new rivals.
βThe rules β a narrower version of the EUβs sweeping Digital Markets Act β seek to offer more choices for consumers, such as by making it easier to switch between mobile operating systems and allowing users to download apps from other sources.β https://on.ft.com/4ajcSbA
@1br0wn ah wow thanks for posting about this! I hadn't seen anything yet about it. I hope this gets some coverage especially how it relates to fediverse stuff. cc @laurenshof
Hello :fediverse: β¦ I am testing out a beta comment system integrated into my wiki. Add a comment to my latest music release Trois Esquisses by adding a comment to this post
@grishka@darius the most common I get is "feta verse? Like the cheese?" And then less common is either people thinking it's related to fettywop (a rapper) or fetlife
from the archives: tired of using the trash to delete files? might I recommend chucking unwanted files in TΜ·ΝΜ αΈ¦Μ΄ΜΜΘΜ΄Μ’ ΜΆΜΜ½HΜ΄ΜΊΜΓΜΆΜαΈΌΜΈΜEΜ΄ΜΝ
As more and more instances are providing multiple services under the same management, we need a term to talk about this type of arrangement. A Fediverse Galaxy is a collection of federated software that is provided by the same admin or collective.
@christian feel free to play with the term. I was just trying to document a thing I was seeing and give it a name. Not really that familiar with the Tor world
