Are there any people who do on ? With a low latency kernel and all that jazz? Preferably with and VSTs and all that crap. That's where I'm headed in the future so I want to know how much faff there is. Back in the day I used Ubuntu Studio which was great.

I gotta say I fü©king love . Have it installed on my wives and it just feels like such a boss distro everywhere. I've never felt anywhere close to this good with a distro before. Stable, up to date, reliable, no hassle, powerful...

Edit: I have no idea how autocorrect managed to change "3 computers" to "my wives" but I feel like I have to let it stay in there. Maybe it's trying to tell me something...

Having been listening more to older lately (60's, 70's), tuning in to a modern radio station for the first time in ages is almost jarring in how lifeless the music feels in comparison. It's produced beyond perfection, on the grid, pitches corrected, mixes aced etc. killing all the life in the music in the process.

One thing that confuses me about the is how people choose instances that are geared towards a special interest. How do people have one thing to pick? I'd have to join like 20 different instances, so instead I'm on a general instance - and miss out on all the local good stuff. :/

Went out after lunch today to look for the cat I fed yesterday. Of course she was still around (and excitedly ran towards me mewing as soon as she saw me), so I fed her some more and let her lay in my lap for som pets and scritches. I hope whomever she belongs to somehow find her soon, poor thing. 😿

Over the past decade I've come to fear big overhauls and redesigns of software because they've started to always make the software less functional and worse to use (but "prettier"/more minimalist). So naturally I was prepared to cry when I updated . But the peeps at @thunderbird really did a good job! Because I can still have it look and function like before! This is how it's done. Everyone else - take notes!

I never expected to see so many trans people on Mastodon. I just came here to get away from Twitter and ended up in the living room it seems. My feed is full of trans people, trans rights, trans issues, trans cuteness etc and not only does it often times fill me with surprising amounts of joy, it's making me a better human I think. Love this. Trans people, you rock.

Just read that criminal gangs in Sweden responsible for hundreds of shootings and bombings are turning to the regular entrepreneurial market and starting companies in the healthcare sector. Because there's more money to be made there acting like regular capitalist leeches than importing and selling tons of narcotics. Yay system.

For shits and giggles I just tried switching the application style in to the old win9x style. But man, look at those useful signifiers! Buttons that are OBVIOUS. Windows that have clear EDGES. Scrollbars that are big enough to click, always visible and PROVIDE INFORMATION, helping giving me a ->mental model<- of the content. What the hell has happened to UI design in the past decade? Minimalism destroys .

Just want to say hi to anyone seeing this and thank you for making this place great. So far I've only seen positivity and friendly people on here. Very little judgement and no asshattery. Great atmosphere and groups of people I'd rarely see elsewhere. I think I'll make this my new home. Hello, friends.

Question abut security on . Where is the trust in Flatpaks when there are several Flatpaks that aren't distributed by the author of the software yet the author's name is used as the source? Google Chrome for instance - it says the author is Google, but my googling tells me Google had nothing to do with creating, verifying or uploading the . How am I supposed to trust that package? And why is it allowed to say Google as the author when the package isn't created nor verified by them?

If you are well organized, it is a healthy trait. no one would say you are "on the OCD spectrum".. but when that trait gets out of hand we would say you have OCD, and likely would be diagnosed as such.

I see (autism) ASD and ADHD as much the same way. Most people diagnosed with it who are high functioning dont really have it at all. It is just a personality trait and all in all a positive one. high-functioning ASD are just people without social hangups, good. And people with ADHD who are high-functioning are largely just amazing multi-taskers.

The harm in putting people on a spectrum is they see themselves asa diseased, broken, something that needs "consideration.. they arent, in most cases in the right proportions these "diseases" are in fact just super powers, things more people should wisht hey have really.

@Anthrako Same in Sweden. You have to have a clear disability to be diagnosed with ADHD. If you're just high functioning you don't qualify for a diagnosis. @freemo

this stellar blade sexy nonsense is all over the internet... I don't seem to have much of an opinion on it though. How does everyone feel about Stellar Blade being condemned for sexy outfits while more mature games, like BG3 are praised for nudity?

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@ward I'm guessing it's easier to criticize female sexiness the more typically male-gazed it is, which is often times very superficial female sexiness where there's no need for it. Like commercials and ads. In film and drama it's more acceptable (because plot?). Maybe there's a parallel to be drawn here. I don't know.

Sitting here, listening to a live jazz stream on Youtube while I work. What the browser tab says is "Warm Jazz". What I keep reading is "Warm Jizz", and my mouth is going "Yes please".

Dating Update: In light of all the dicks I'll be sucking over the next 36-ish hours, I thought an update on my dating life is in order.🤣

I have four guys that I've been seeing for about six months now. Although, one of them has been a regular for about two years, and the other off and on for about ten years.

One of the others, I don't see much, unfortunately. He's a very busy guy. It's a shame, because his is the first uncut dick I've ever had. So I've been having fun learning the ins and outs (pun intended) of that.

Then, of course, there is Partner.

There are other guys I'm chatting with on Tinder/Bumble, but this really is already a full plate. Partner and I have had to set up a shared calendar to keep track of our dating lives. haha

@sweetest_delilah Jeez, that does sound like a fun life. We all should have more hedonistic lifestyles!

Question for you computer based music producers and virtual instrument collectors out there. If your have a couple of free beastly synths like Surge XT and Vital in your collection, what are the benefits of adding more, and seemingly simpler ones, to your collection?
My own plebish instinct is to download them all to expand my arsenal, but I'm starting to wonder what the benefit is over learning to actually fully master something like Surge.
