I heard an interview with the creator of Gaslight Club (Stoo Goff) . The premise is basically that you're one of the robots in Westworld who's waking up to the reality of your world. Obvously cool storytelling to be had there. Except it's in a 1920's(ish) nightclub.

He described it mechanically as being the "...Year Zero Engine with a few of the influences from Blades [in the Dark], and from Genesys." I was intrigued. I downloaded it.

If you're curious about the current state of cleaning up an AI transcript, here's the diff from the latest Apple results call. (I ended up finishing about 10 minutes behind live.)

Takeaways: Machine transcription is vastly better than it used to be (especially with things like numbers), but there are still hallucinations and misunderstandings. But it sure beats what I used to do, which was literally type every word that was said.

I wanted to sleep more but then my 🧠 started thinking about my game.

I’ve made good progress consolidating the rules. I’ve got a layout I like ready in Affinity Publisher.

I’m definitely going to need help from wifey when it comes to taking the swirling mass of thoughts that is the setting and condensing it down in an organized fashion.

I am happy to have come up with a setting that I’m still excited about playing in over a year later.

I’m really eager to start playtesting it.

Last night I had a really surprising encounter in my playtest. As it unfolded I became 100% convinced I was about to have a TPK. I'd "screwed the pooch" on the mechanics, and was going to have to go back to the drawing board.

But then, I discovered that I'd baked in enough support for player creativity that even the most ill-equipped characters could succeed IF the players could think "outside of the box".
