Can you see it? The outline of a ground into the rock at Neshaugen-Sør. One of several rock art panel finds by local history enthusiasts in North Can you see the fore and hind legs, belly and back line? (we think it looks more like an elk figure). An example of the hunter-gatherer type of rock art believed to be from the older stone age. more photos from Kenneth on our page: https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=59191

A beautiful example of a large bronze age burial cairn. Not round but a long cairn which are rare in . The cairn is located on top of a large rocky hill with some pine forest and rock outcrops. From the top there is a beautiful view over the ocean and the cairn would have been easily visible from the sea. Photo by our member Kenneth, the 10,000th he has shared with us. Ever wondered how you date a standing stone? This one fell down.
Excavation of the stone hole yielded organic material that was dated to 1090BCE +/-100years (and then it was re-erected. )

That’s late Bronze Age. A fairly typical date for many single stones. So nothing like as ancient as much that we share on here. But why though? What were they for?
