I really miss how Twitter would group similar notifications, such as all the recent retweets or favorites for an individual post. I'm not sure why this isn't a feature that has been added to the notifications page yet.

The problem I have with most superhero movies is that the villains always change the world for the worse and the superheroes restore the status quo.

I want a superhero movie that tears down the status quo for something better.

Don't get me wrong, the Democrats would have been completely screwed if the Republicans nominated absolutely anyone else, but Biden is perfectly qualified to take on a challenger who has previously proven himself incompetent at the job, seems to have declined even more precipitously, and is distracted by a half dozen legal cases that could potentially land him penniless in jail. will be fine unless the pundits spend eight months piling onto him over his age.

@lzg I think that the pundits depend so much on there being a competitive horserace to justify their jobs, that the biggest incentive they have to is pile onto whomever is in the lead until the race is once again too close to call.

I just listened to the rest of the Ezra Klein interview and then promptly unsubscribed from his feed, at least for the moment. His solution, when he finally got around to it, is to have Joe Biden just drop out and then have a bunch of random Democrats choose the next candidate at the convention, which is a completely bananas plan.

Also, he is out of his mind saying that Nature's Fynd is a decent cream cheese alternative.

    Yes, this brings the CDC guidelines for COVID into line with guidelines for RSV and influenza.

    It's not just that is COVID more severe. The guidelines for RSV and influenza are not right either. We need universal paid sick leave, not permission to return to work while still contagious.

    You are right, the only thing that has seemingly saved the Democrats from their blunder is the Republicans out there blundering as hard and as often as they possibly can.

    In my quest to build the perfect I learned something kinda depressing. All these hot shit bikes with center drives don't have a standard bottom bracket, but instead a gaping hole the shape of whatever proprietary drive system they were built around. This means that when the motor makers ultimately go out of business these $5k frames are left unsupported and are worthless aluminum scrap.

    That being said it is a 100% tragedy that there is no international standard for ebike parts.

    Last night I thought that the humidifier in our bedroom was developing terrible technical problems, since I was hearing weird gurgling and sucking sounds coming from that corner of the room. It was only when it started speaking out loud about how it hoped I was enjoying the experience, I realized that Janine fell asleep with ASMR videos playing on her phone.

    @bw If you are just using static HTML, GitHub Pages are usually a good option.

    @sarajw @bw Yes, it is another thing to learn, but version management is perhaps even more useful for beginning developers since if they accidentally mess anything up, they know they have a copy of the previous state of the code.

    @sarajw @bw An underused feature of GitHub is you can actually just use the UI to directly add and edit pages in your repo/site. It completely bypasses the need for FTP clients and such, and ends up being much simpler overall.

    github interface where you can push the little pencil button see options for editing the file within github itself or through integrated editing services.
