Every time I vacuum with my new machine, my air filtration system goes nuts. It didn't exactly like when I vacuumed with the old one, but it didn't have conniption fits.

I'm starting to think that I should have spent more money when my old vacuum died. 🤔

@sysop408 Yeah, my old one was a beefy Kenmore with HEPA filters. Since I'm not making any money right now, I bought a cheap Eureka instead.

It's a lot easier to maneuver and I love not dealing with bags.

We'll see if the new filters make a difference.

@ai6yr @exador23 Are fires started by freezer electrical faults something that happens? I thought it was mostly stuff that heats things up, like coffee makers or toasters, that started fires.

Well.
I need to talk to my cardiologist.
Soon.
Six months ago it was determined that my left atrium was moderately enlarged.
Now it’s severely enlarged.
At the least, open heart surgery for a valve replacement.
More realistically, a heart transplant.

A crap load of arrangements to make.

Not just me.

@exador23 @ai6yr I wear slippers* at home. It's happened more than once that I've arrived at my destination only to realize that I was still wearing slippers.

Slippers=traditional slippers in winter and open-toed sandals in summer.

I've finished my taxes. Now I'm uploading videos from my phone to my Mac.

I wonder if a newer phone would be better at airdropping videos. My old iPhone 11 Pro Max balks at uploading more than. a couple at a time. It would be sweet to just set it to upload an hours worth of video and do other things while it shuffles bits.

Got my entire house moved out of containers back into the house. Boy, do we have a lot of stuff (just in general). You accumulate a lot of stuff over decades. I am going to set up a shredder and attempt to NOT keep a lot of paper, I'd love to go digital on paperwork (like the kids do nowadays, LOL... everything is a photo on their phone).

ps. free rowing machine for anyone in the Conejo Valley, if anyone wants, LOL. (just a run o the mill one, nothing special...)

Kinda amazing how eggs, one of the most fragile things we know, have come in cardboard pulp packaging for decades... But if you buy almost any device these days, it will be packaged in a box with 3-4" of styrofoam inserts to protect the metal.

CNN: Authorities are pausing search & recovery efforts for the 4 additional people presumed dead after the bridge collapse, the superintendent of Maryland State Police said Wednesday evening.

“At this point, based upon the conditions, we are now moving from a recovery mode to a salvage operation," he said.

"Because of the superstructure surrounding what we believe were the vehicles and the amount of concrete and debris, divers are no longer able to safely navigate and operate around that," he said. "We have exhausted all search efforts."

...based on sonar scans, officials believe that the vehicles are "encased in the superstructure & concrete" of the bridge.

@donkeyherder @exador23 @deewani Yes, I listened to the radio traffic and there was hardly any confusion. It was amazing!

I was expecting somebody to go "What do you mean, the bridge is gone?" or "Are you sure you want traffic completely closed off?" But there was none of that. Very professional!

I wonder if the people involved have had training on disaster response. It sure sounded like it.

@shermozle @bruces Testing it is not hard. There are pills that show up on x-ray. The shell is plastic and withstands stomach acid. I think they contain barium.

There are also endoscopy pills that contain a camera.

A GI doctor would know more.

Dear handy friends: my adorable and perfect angel rabbit Sebastian found this led lamp power cord irresistible. I need a new one but I can’t find a perfect match for the numbers on Amazon. None of the plugs they sell say 15v / 1a, and I no longer trust the shitty ai internet to explain electronics to me. Can any of you, like, hold my hand and reply with a link to what I need to buy? Doesn’t have to be Amazon, I just don’t know where to begin.

@ai6yr @donkeyherder Some of that split loom stuff came with my AquaPurr cat fountain. Apparently some cats like to chomp down on plastic plumbing lines. I put it on the input line pre-emptively. So far, so good.

I'm surprised the rabbits don't eat the Amazon boxes.
