I dunno why people expect "pay to post/interact“ would at all fix the woes of social media?

All it'll do is disenfranchise marginalised folks and those economically unable to participate, further harming our societies & democracies.

It also assumes bad actors do not have financial means, which when you're talking about state-backed actors or spam campaigns, they almost certainly do.

@thisismissem that seems to be the common pattern between cryptobros and corpos, to assume, that the biggest flaw of the current Internet is, that things are for free.
That's what united both groups in their push for a "metaverse". The central thing about the metaverse never were the legless avatars, or the VR headsets, but that it was intended as a reboot of the Internet, where everything costs money from the beginning on.

@RickiTarr GMOs have been mentioned, but I would like to expand it to the whole set of naturalistic fallacies.
A lot of people have this idea, that there are "natural" and "chemical/artificial" things and the first would naturally be better than the later.
In the end you get ecological farms using copper oxides instead of other pesticides, that wouldn't accumulate and instead quickly degrade.
And there is a lot of similar examples.

@nblr @kattascha @irgendwienet ich kann noch nix commiten, für 8 von 10 features hab ich noch ein impediment bei deinem Function Owner offen, eines ist in clarification für einen Check Back und das letzte müssen wir erst nochmal neu auspokern, der Entwickler hatte in der letzten Runde einen straight flush.

Ja, diese großen Demonstrationen sind schön, aber ganz ehrlich, ich hab wenig Hoffnung, dass sie was nützen. Gerade Olaf Scholz und Nancy Faeser werden einfach dass tun, was sie am besten können:
Es aussitzen.
Wenn wir wirklich ein AfD Verbot geben soll, werden wir Streiks und Blockaden brauchen.
Der Protest muss unbequem sein.
Was nicht heißt, dass ihr nicht zu den Demos sollt. Geht hin, vernetzt euch, quatscht mit den freundlichen Menschen in schwarzen Hoodies.

@tagesschau dem Artikel fehlt ein Hinweis darauf, dass natürlich die Lösung ein humanes Asyl und Einwanderungsrecht wäre, nicht "mehr Härte", aber liefert ruhig den Nazis mehr Talking Points.
