A judge makes the right decision against this extreme right Tory
Government prosecution of Trudi Warner for holding up a sign reminding jurors of their right.

Ms Warner is to be admired &;should never have been charged. A waste of public funds and resources on what was a political trial

Today at 4.30pm, MPs will debate whether to offer a family reunion scheme for Palestinians living in the UK with families trapped in Gaza.

There’s still time to write to your MP with the tool below & ask them to attend & speak up for Gaza families.

This time is not the IOF but Israelis citizens halting and destroying aid bound for Gaza and it's not the first time.

Evil, criminal and unpunished:

"In East Jerusalem, chanting Israeli demonstrators set fire to parts of the grounds of a compound belonging to UNRWA, the main UN agency for aid to Palestinians." Source Reuters

Sick of hearing peaceful demonstrators taking a stand against Israeli genocide called hate spreaders and anti Semites. The evidence points the other way in Jerusalem Israeli demonstrators SET FIRE to a UNRWA compound. That is HATE.

Why the silence about that?

@fkamiah17 I just finished reading Terry Eagleston " The Starmer Project" in which he details Starmer's journey from human rights defender to champion of the authoritarian right wing state. He argues there is no realistic hope of the left regaining a strong voice or influence in Labour party after the purge of the left. Forming or joining other parties as a left wing voice is the alternative. If Tory MPS can defect to Labour lets see principled Labour ones join The Greens, Plaid Cymru, SNP,eyc

I remember hearing reports of “indy-free” leaflets arriving from HQ and being binned by angry activists" -- Lesley Riddoch

Natalie Elphicke is a hard-right Tory. Her defection sums up Labour’s contempt for progressive voters

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/may/08/natalie-elphicke-defect-labour-keir-starmer-conservatives

Jones makes more sense all the time. England has no choice, but I hope that voters in Scotland and Wales (NI is a different matter as Labour don't stand there) pay attention.

Labour are not and never have been our friends. A Scottish Labour, based in and caring for the country might be another matter. Not this group of junkies.

If Keir Starmer isn’t careful, Gaza could do for him what the Iraq war did for Blair

'Many Muslim voters turned against Labour in the local elections, and the continuing conflict only heightens the risk of alienating others’

You do not need to be a Muslim to despise Labour's stance on Gaza which is combined with the very shady, opaque really, funding of Labour Friends of Israel.

I hope we will highlight these in their Scottish campaign.

naefool,

@Wen they are not concerned about Gaza only about trying to stop the loss of voters who won't collude with war crimes.

Humza isn't a great politician, but he isnae a rubbish politician either, and the is short of talent at Holyrood. would be unwise no tae gie him a cabinet seat; and gien hoo has performed on an ither maitters furth o Scotland, it would be guid tae see him in a foreign relations brief.

If we're aiming for , we need to be developing strong relationships with the rest of Europe and beyond.

@simon_brooke Don't agree that Yousaf isn't a great politician. He inherited a poisoned chalice & showed strong leadership on Gaza. For that alone I was proud of him as FM. Though he made a major blunder ending BHA. Agree he should be in cabinet & foreign affairs seems a good choice.

This will be the eejit ‘negotiator’ who conspired to ensure that Scottish farmers and small businesses will be driven out of business by our inability to trade without tarrifs with Europe.
Of course he will not be calling for more hard policing of Westminster, where MPs steal from the public purse and shovel cash to their cronies/party donors.
